Riding pillion is at worst only the appearance of emasculation.  How ironic is it that men worry about their macho image at the expense of making time with women?  Isn't inability to attract a partner the most emasculating state of all?

Of course, talking me out of riding my own scooter alongside would be a trick for reasons that have nothing to do with gender.  Huskyteer's approach might do it, though.

I am not sure why you would want him as a pillion or a husband if embarassement is his excuse. Dump him, I wouldn't ride as a pillion with anyone but my excuse makes sense. I would be scared shitless.

I've ridden pillion with riders I trust. I wouldn't with someone 'unknown' or with less than at least a couple of years of daily riding under their belt.

I think I am just too big to be a pillian. At 6'5" 280 pounds I have issues with space riding the bike let alone having someone ride me.

I'm quite happy to ride pillion. It's quite scary if you are normally the one in control but after a few minutes you get used to it.

A pillion is actually a passenger seat, derived from the Gaelic word pillin meaning rug or blanket. To ride pillion is to ride on a passenger seat. To be a pillion is to have someone sit on you.....
