Modern Vespa

I checked out a 2008 LX50 with low miles that is being sold by an owner who hasn't ridden it in a year. There was a spill while learning to ride it.

The lights except headlight work, but it wouldn't start. It cranked but no ignition. I looked and there was gas, but it didn't look like there was fuel in the clear fuel line.

I'm going back tomorrow to see if I can get it to start. I don't know if there is spark at the plug so I'll test that. Suppose I replace the plug, is there something I can do to trouble shoot the fuel line/fuel tank?

Also, there's a guy selling a 2006 gt200. What about that?

(He apparently had the carburetor rebuilt--I've read that a lot of vespa carburetors need work, is that right?)

The top speed of the lx50 is around 39 mph, and it's slower on hills.
The GT200 will cruise at 65 mph & is interstate capable.

Top end on the 50 is 40mph
Buy the 200
Carbs aren't a problem unless you let the scooter sit and they get clogged
