I am considering a part exchange for a new gts 125 super, i have a 2008 gts 125 at the minute but it was bought second hand and it has not been looked after to well, but it was cheap so i can't complain really. it's just that i like my stuff in mint condition and to be kept in mint condition as it is not a thing i need to use on a daily basis. i ride when its dry and for the enjoyment... but is it worth swapping for a new one or a complete strip down and have the whole scooter put back to what it should look like???.....dean.

I was wondering the same on my 05 gt. She aint in terrible shape but aint been looked after as well as I would have done. Depending on the age and condition of your gt it's really a question of how much time you want to put in. If it has done a lot of all weather miles expect lots of the bolts to be in bad shape and jammed in. A huge hammer couldn't even move the one running through my centre stand and I contiually have trouble removing bolts during routine maintanance. The only reason I could see to put the effort in would be if you were very sentimentally attached to the scoot, if not, get the new one and start as you mean to go on. Would probably want a full bolt removal on the new one to coppaslip everything tbh. Just my 50 pence.

re1
i would have to do every nut and bolt on a new one or i don't think i would sleep at night knowing there moister attacking it somewhere even though it would be kept under wraps in a heated garage....
