Ok, it's bound to happen to everyone at some point, grease or oil on a concrete garage floor. Anyone have a great way of getting it off? In the past have tried the dawn soap/kitty litter thing, worked ok but not great.

Had the oil changed on my car and asshats ripped the gasket on the oil filter which then leaked like crazy till I fixed it. Have a pretty big oil spot.

Kitty litter is good for the initial if you have it. I spilled a ton of oil on my driveway and went to local Kragen and the guy gave me some stuff they sell just for oil and it worked WAY better than kitty litter. It looked like kitty liter just finer granules. I don't know what it's called but I've seen it on the shelf. It was AMAZING! There are chemicals to clean up residual stain too. No matter what, you will have to use elbow grease.

Don't mind using elbow grease as long as it doesn't stain too Clown emoticon

speedy-dry, gran-sorb, dri-sweep, straight kitty litter... that'll get the big stuff.

then go to the local hardware store and buy two gallons of simple green and a deck brush. soak it and then tear it up with the brush. rinse and repeat till the ol' lady gets home or till clean.

you could also use any number of grease eliminating solvents such as purple power, greased lighting, DG or even straight gas.

best,
-greasy

The spot on the floor from the scooter isn't a problem, the one from the car is.

Thanks Greasy, guess I should have expected an answer from a guy named Greasy....
