I thought the folks here in the Not-So-Modern section would enjoy this advance copy of an article from Scootering Magazine's upcoming August issue. It's a "Blast from the Past" and features the friend who got me into scootering.

Tony bought his first Lambretta in 1961 and was part of the early racing scene. These guys were never mods, they were racers and tinkerers. He also build a hovercraft using Lambretta engines, which is described in the article.

Blast from the Past (Part 1)

Tony just finished up the interviews for Part 2 of the article, and when I get the advanced copy of that I'll be glad to post it too if there's interest.

Enjoy!

Awesome! A great read and I, for one, would greatly like to read the next one, too!

Thanks for making it available.

Understood. Such a temptation to click that link. Guess I should have put a spoiler alert on it.

Here in the U.S. it takes a while to get Scootering. I've not even received my July issue yet! And admittedly it would be easier to read this article in print than online. But for those who don't get a chance to see the magazine at all, it was my chance to give props to the guy who got me started.

I just got my copy of the August issue. Wonder why yours are so late?
