I went for a ride this evening. I left reykjavik and rode around a fjord called "Hvalfjörður", or "whale fjord" in english. It used to be a very busy road, but now they've dug a tunnel under the fjord so now it is almost never used. This is also whalers brought dead whales to shore to be processed...Hence the name. Nowadays it's really fun to ride there because the road is practically deserted since the main roads moved and whaling went out of fashion. There are also remains of british and american military installations from ww2 and the cold war around there.
