I need some help. My beautiful VESPA was hit and run. I am trying to start it and all I hear is clicking in a little black box above the engine with the line leading to the battery and ignition . I need to get the bike to a service centre but the towing costs a fortune. Any ideas on other things I can try.

A continous clicking, or just once every time you try? The first is a duff battery, the second is a duff starter relay. These two scenarios may be related.

The scooter was hit, so maybe some wiring got yanked loose.
