Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm not a mechanic and have never seen one of these before...

So I got my Costa, finally, and have a question about what is supposed to be in the box. The picture, on the supplied manual cover, shows the bell, the weights and the lower plate. And also a metal shaft connected to the lower plate. I don't have that shaft part in my box. My guess would be that the shaft in the image below is the bike's drive shaft and that it's not part of the J.Costa? I just want to be sure...

It's OK, you've got the complete package for a 500. The bit with 'holes' is already inside the variator pulley, and part of it.

But I can't help to think that something is amiss here. Did you get that piece in your J.Costa box for your 500?

It was integral with the variator - look at the inside of the middle hole on yours.

You also get a sticker! Woo Hoo! Just like Cracker Jack.

Sorry guys, but I still don't get it. Should there or should there not be another part to my brand NEW J.Costa besides the ones I mention in the original post.

If anyone can tell me PLEASE what is supposed to be in the box I'd really love to know. Thanks!

My box was opened and then taped back up before I even got it.

In the picture below, what is that empty rectangular space for? Seems like something was removed to me.

That's for a bit of cylindrical bushing that ISN'T required for the 500, but IS required for some other bikes. The box is generic - they aren't going to make different boxes for different models! You listed the bits you got - that's what all 500 J Costa owners have received.

It looks to me like the Diamond Push Rod may be missing. Not sure...but it has happened before...

Count those little roller things. Then get a picture of your stock variator. Notice how many more are in the J. Costa. That is what you get.
