filled up the tank for the first time today.
actually had to ask the attendant how to dispense the fuel, since the pump wouldn't pump...(he told me to pull back on that rubber sleeve -- hehe).

the meter on the fuel gauge was down below the last blue line, but well above E. so i put in 1 gallon of premium, thinking it's only a 1.5 gal tank.
when i rode off, noticed it only filled up above half.. almost 3/4.

so how big is the tank?
how much fuel would you put?
what grade fuel do you normally use?

I think it holds 2.5 gallons. When the light comes on you still have 0.5 left. So if it hasn't come on, you should have more than 0.5 left.

When it gets near "E" I put in just under 2 gallons. I have never spilled (knock on wood). Make sure the nozzle is parallel to the scooter. Jam the nozzle in as far as you can. If it's parallel, it will go in farther. I usually take out the pet carrier just in case.

I buy premium.

Welcome to MV!

Confirmed...according to Vespa GT200 specs (2.5 gallons)...follow aggieknit's recommendations and don't attempt to top off...it can lead to a lot of problems and just get messy. Here's a link to Wiki library on the infamouse evap. hose / evap. overflow hose discussion.

Here's a string you might find useful...it's a lot of stuff on the GT200.

I think that you should get some positive karma for your response. . . where is the Great Basin by the way - oh, wait, I'll go consult my atlas. . .
