Some bugger fiddled with the lock on my top box and now it's busted Can I just get a replacedment lock and fit it in, or do I need to buy a whole new top box?

you should be able to get a new lock fitted - ask the mechanic when you see him later in the week.

my topbox is removable so i don't often leave it on the scooter unless i'm parked up somewhere i know is safe, but when i do have to leave it on the scooter i alwasy leave it empty and unlocked.

Sorry to hear about your topcase lock.

I believe you could secure another lock...but before doing so try a locksmith and see it he/she can replace/repair the tumblers within the lock...this might work. Make sure to compare the price of a replacement vs. a repair...sometimes it cost the same to have it replaced.

jimh whose been on numerous posts on duplicating Paggio keys might be able to provide some sound advice.

as TB says, jimh is the man when it comes to lock questions.

If you end up replacing the lock - or even having it repaired - you may want to consider having the topcase lock rekeyed so you can use your ignition key for both the scooter and the topcase.

Send jimh a message...he should be able to provide some advice as well as keying lock to match ignition key. Stay tuned!

Yes mate you can buy a replacement lock. Alternatively, or if you wish, PM me a picture of your ignition key then send me your broken lock. I have face caps, springs, wafers etc to bring it back to new. This way you will only need one key to carry.

There will be no charge, just pay return postage 8)
