Modern Vespa

When I ride, I notice things on the side of the road much more than when I drive. Today I saw a small dog carrying a deer's leg in his mouth. Later I saw some kind of black bird pecking away at a smashed Armadillo (Armadillo's are unusual in Northeast Kansas).

What's your oddest sight?

Staying with the all-creatures-great-and-small theme, Whilst riding in a semi-rural location (essex to the UK'ers) a small bird (starling?) flew in front of me, I thought: "mmm thats close" Only for a bloomin' great Kestrel to swoop down and grab this poor little bird (mid-air) and fly-off with it. I few feet in front of me. Its a wonder I never hit the thing.

Other than that just the random things you see in the South East of the UK. Lots of strangness

I saw the most amazing lightning show last week when I rode to work. For those of you not familiar with the desert, Arizona gets pretty spectacular shows of lightning during storm season. Homestly, I shouldve left the scoot at home and woke up the wife for a ride to work

Saw a cow once that had been sucked up by a tornado out of its herd and placed neatly, albeit as a casualty, directly next to the Interstate than ran parallel to the pasture. Eerie. . .

A large, florescent pink dildo

Many years ago while riding my bicycle in Miami, my friend and I found a large black plastic bike on the side of the road, curious kids that we were, we opened it and found a dead Bottle Nose Dolphin pup! Eeeegads, it was awful.
All I could think of was "Flipper" lost his baby.

That is so sad!

While living in Florida 10 years ago, saw a 6 foot alligator in the middle of the road while riding my bike. Now in Northern California, I've seen a live harbor seal pup along the side of the road near Bolinas.

Once when walking a ditch in highschool I found a polaroid photo of a really fat old gal bound with rope, nude, with whipped cream sprayed on her boobs. It looked like she was tied up in a warehouse.

I once saw a jack russell terrier walking into town with a deer leg in his mouth (original poster!) and that was indeed bizarre.

Another time I was driving dirt roads in highschool with my buddy and I saw what looked like a kangaroo jump across the road. I didn't say anything because it was late and I was tired. Five minutes of silence passed as we drove and my friend finally said, "Did you see a kangaroo back there?" Heh.. I never figured out what it was. Must have been the Iowa state record jackrabbit. It was on its hind legs and it looked to be as big as a small deer.

And yet another time doing the same sort of driving, he and I saw a brilliant series of flashing green light come out of the woods. Again, silence, and he looked over at me and said, "I hate how all these alien stories only happen to rednecks."

In the middle of nowhere, in a huge lava-field, far from any town, in pouring rain. I had not seen a car for a long time, and then...All alone, there was an athlete running with a burning torch, á-la the olympics. I've no idea what that was about.

One day I was riding to work... looked to my right and saw Steny Hoyer driving a big black SUV. That was interesting....

another strage sighting was.... an overweight woman in her 60's pushing a lawnmower.... naked...

Last year I saw a few guys pulling up Obama signs in a yard and replacing them with Mccain signs.... drove back by 5 mins later to see 4 cop cars with lights on and the cops standing around watching the men pull up all of the Mccain posters and replace the Obama posters. This whole event was holding up traffic lol.

There was a Comic Con or something like it last spring here in San Jose. My commute ride home took me past the convention center and there we a LOT of plushies and furries out and about at 5 pm on a Thursday. To me, that's pretty interesting.

Actually, the ever forward-thinking Alabama state legislature made it illegal to sell "marital aides" in stores. Maybe someone had to throw this contraband out of the car while they were being pulled over!

Back when I was a youne kid I was driving with my father down to Sunset Aquatic Marina in Sunset Beach California and I saw what looked like a dead man on the shoulder of the road. I told my father and we circled back and sure enough he was there. We went home and called the police and it turned out to be one of two robbers just out of jail wanted for breaking into someones home and they stole a TV and his partnes had shot him and left him for dead.

When I went for a ride oneday and ended up In Baja Mexico, I was riding on the Hwy seen a 50 Cal Gun aimed my way. with 3 young looking solders behind it. thay just waved me by.

When I was a young teenager I was riding my bike down a one lane country road and I found a nude playing card on the side of the road. Being from a strict religous family out in the middle of nowhere it was pretty exciting. I picked it up and kept it and as I continued to ride about every hundred feet I would find another nude playing card. Apparantly somebody was looking at each one and then throwing it out the window. It was like a porno easter egg hunt. I kept riding until I collected the whole deck.

Nope....sold it on Ebay!

driving to work about two years ago I saw two people having sex in a parked Nissan Pathfinder.

She was riding him (up and down, up and down), and I figured they were probably cheating on their spouses.

I mean what adult at 6:30AM dressed in work cloths needs to have sex in a parked vehicle.

Actually, if it was Memorial Day weekend, then it was the annual Famime (Anime = animation) Con. Which I attended. I wasn't wearing a furry outfit, but I did have kitty ears on.

I once drove into Boulder Colorado from Steamboat Springs and on the side of the road was an old man conducting the traffic.

Not on a scoot, but riding down the interstate in Atlanta (read as, slightly letting my foot off the brake every few minutes) watched a huge guy that had been pulled over yelling at the cops. We couldn't hear, because we were probably 6 lanes away, but we watched as he kept yelling while the cops pulled out their tazers and tazed him. He went down to his knees, and when his five seconds were up, he continued yelling at them, only to have the trigger pulled again. He went down face first that time.

Also, down here in the sticks, drove past a Honda Civic with a deer tied down in the trunk. Probably only about a third of him fit in there, with the rest (head, legs, etc) hanging out the sides. At least you know the hunters around here don't let their kills go to waste, no matter what.
