Are they a standard size/thread? Will I be able to go to a regular boke sjop for it? Dealer will most assuredly need to order one.

I'm sure it won't be a stock item at any dealers - BUT they might have a old banger around the back whose cap fits quite well. AFAIK all Piaggio gas caps (petrol caps) are the same. All mine seem interchangeable. |

Yep, left it sitting in its usual spot during fill-up right between the gas tank shroud and the rear rack mount. Took off without putting it back on. First time in 20 years of driving and riding.
BTW they are not standard for a M/C shop. The guy thought it was a lawnmower cap when I showed him it. Looks like I'll be calling Moorrsport tomorrow morning... |

O.K....thought about my own situation awhile back and I thought I lost my cell phone checked and double checked my top case...then on the third check I shook everythng out and it dropped out from in between my folded micro fiber cloth...hence, could it have fallen into the "No Pets" carrier?...take everything out and "shake" it out...maybe you did this already...I'm just trying to explore all possible options...

Well, thanks for the tips and good advice, but the spot where I rested the gas cap on the body of the scoot between the gas tank cover and the bracket for the GTS rack I have on the back. A perfect spot really or so I thought. I checked the carrier whe I got home but no dice. Maybe I'll check again later. Also, I remove the pet carrier when I gas up to avoid spilling into the pet carrier. I have borrowed the cap from my wife's LX and put rubber-banded SaranWrap around her filler neck until a new cap comes in the mail.

Sorry about your lost cap. I am often forgetful myself and do things in a mechanical way that prevents me from screwing up.
When fueling in the future, place the cap on the seat latch. That's what I do. It then becomes absolutely impossible to drive off capless. The cap isn't vented so until you get a replacement Saran Wrap and a rubber band will keep you riding. P. |
