I got a 2007 Vespa 250 GTS...it was beautiful once but nearly 2 years in NYC have taken is toll...all beat up now. The front fender was smashed off when it was tipped over one of its many times. I don't care much anymore about the cosmetics and figure I will get it all fixed once I leave this place.

Question...Is it ok to drive the vespa for a year without the front fender?

The front fender doesn't do much except for keeping stuff the front tire kicks up away from you. You will find that if you ride in the rain, you will get much more wet without the front fender and if you have a windscreen it will get covered in dirt and water when you ride in the rain making it harder to see through.

it will give your scooter an edgy 'rat' look and yes you will get filthy but you'll look cool doing it.

Yeaup, I've seen someone try to ride in the rain without the front fender... it was like a rooster crest coming off their front tire and smacking them in the face.

When a truck backed into my first GTS and busted my front fender into pieces I had to ride home in the dark and in the rain one early winter night. It was cold, but that wasn't the problem. The spray of water into my headlight made it exceedingly hard to see anything. That was the scariest ride of my life.

Yep, classic 8) You can make a working mudguard out of pretty much anything - wouldn't recommend a cereal box though

Be sure that your radiator vents stay clean. The front fender does keep a little shit out of them.
