I changed my first set out after about 7,500 miles IIRC - when the original bell was found to be cracked ata belt change. They could easily have gone on another two or three thousand miles or even more judging by the wear indicators (the little holes in the rounded ends).

After the initial wear-in the wear rate dramatically decreases.
