I've been trying to sell my baby.. Crying or Very sad emoticon for the last 2 months but havent had even a nibble till yesterday. I'm asking for 6800 and a guy emailed me offering 3500 then second max offer of 4900 stating this is what the kelly blue book for trade in on mp3 500 2008 is.

I have scoured the internet trying to find these used and only have found but a few. Still seem to be fairly rare to find used.

Anyone have a thought of what it would be worth in excellent condition with only 400miles??

Lack of new vehicle warranty is probably going to greatly reduce resale (unless you have an extended one, in which case play it up). I saw a 2008 with 700 miles on it, with Piaggio windscreen and topcase for $8k about two months ago in Seattle. Not sure if it sold. Suggest you continue to craigslist around major cities to find more and get a feel for what might be expected. Sure seems to me that 6 or 7k should be in order, but hard to say. I think a lot of it is right place at right time. Tried ebay?

Email him back and tell him you are not trading it in so you won't sell for trade in price.

Go to kellybb and get the trade in and retail prices and price it in the middle of the two.

I know it is discouraging but that is the economy. It is certainly worth more than $4900.00. I think it is probably worth the $6800 you are asking but I don't think it likely you will get it. To be honest in this economy if I were looking and $6800 was the asking price I would offer $5500 and go from there but probably not more than $5800. Not trying to be mean just that it is a buyers market and I can wait.

mp3 500 price
Thanks for the input from everyone appreciate it. It does have extended warranty but agree it is bit difficult with economy.

Rechecked KBB for retail and it is around 7k but I saw and ad in vespa forum from someone with a black version of my scoot who kept dropping price till he stopped at 6300

Again thanks everyone for your thoughts

Reason want to sell. Well love the scoot but just didn't take up riding as much as I thought I would. Right after leaving my job in California had this dream of riding up the coast and everywhere basically. Reality set in for me that I wasn't going to do it.

So it's been sitting pretty much since I got it. Was too afraid to ride around LA after purchasing then moved to Indiana and brought it but have been traveling by car most of the summer.

Hate to do it but just a waste having it sit there.

Love reading this forum and all the adventures you folks have. Guess it would have been more enjoyable to have found people to ride with around here......but then again I'm heading back to Cali late august

I hope you can alter reality in a different direction, but I hope things turn out for you regardless.

By the way, my MP3 is about to go out of warranty. Is there a way to extend the warranty with Piaggio? I know how expensive a broken front suspension can be!

Not in the UK. You have the statutory two years EU warranty and that's it. However, if anything breaks that you can prove must have been faulty in the first place (rather than for wear and tear), the warranty for that is six years (EU law).
