Or you can get bigger as long as you have it restircted. After two years that restriction ends!!! Go get a 300! Be cool. (Or be cooler still and get a Honda like me! ) |

Doug, you,ve lost me a bit mate......i did the , A2 test....on my auto, 125c.
thought i had to wait 2 years to have anything larger than my 125 ?...then i know i can have any cc........so what cc are you saying i can have now then......without altering it.....and if i did get a new 250, 300, cc..i would,nt want to mess with it to be honest......rather wait the 2 years......etc |

Ride without "L" plates and carry a pillion passenger on any bike but you are restricted to a 33 Bhp machine for 2 years; after that, you're free to ride any bike, there's no re-test. Ride up to 33 bhp NOW. That includes the 300 at 22bhp. I bought the 300 the day I passed my A2 which I did on my GT125, just like you. ⚠️ Last edited by DougL on UTC; edited 1 time

Doug is correct on this mate.
I took his advice and bought a 300. Some of the best advice I ever had. Having been pulled by the police I can confirm this is indeed the law. Marc |

Congratulations, from a fellow UK-Two-Part-New-Style-Test-MVer
Just watch out for those speed cameras; particularly the hidden ones. I'm on tenterhooks at the moment as I went past one on a NSL road going perhaps faster than I perhaps should have done, and if they've got me, it's license revocation time test retaking time! Only 10 days now to wait 'n' see... But I'm sure you're a very sensible rider. |

Those of you who have been riding for some years and have just got your tests and are now on 250cc+ - I really, really recommend finding a local IAM group and doing the 'Skills for life'. By far the best value for money extra training you'll ever get, and bloody good fun too.
Plus the social side. |

Congratulations Martyn! I was just about to post a message yesterday asking if anyone on the site has taken or passed the new two part test. So tell me, how difficult was it really? How long did you wait between completing your training and doing the test? Did you training prepare you properly for both parts and if so would you recommend them? I'm going to register for the A2 training course soon, but have not decided which school to use. And I just really wanted to get some advice from someone who's actually passed the darn test cause everyone has pretty much tried to scare sh$£*!less regarding the impossibility of passing the test. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!
