As a former GL owner it looks legit to me. I don't thing the GL was ever available in the Asian markets.

Not only is it legit, but they did it up pretty nice as well. The grimeca semi-hydraulic disc brake on the front is a nice little addition to an already good looking ride.
Plus, P125 engine ...that's nice since the stock GL engine is a shit sandwich. |

Yep, looks good mate. PX motor, disc set-up and classic lines.
Go have a look if you can. Cheers |

It's miles away, but if I do look, what should I be looking for? I love the way it looks in the photos.

Well, basic stuff...
condition of the paint job is something i'd be looking at. Make sure it's not flaking or bubbling around the seams or where the bolts have tightened on. ( not flaking off anywhere, to indicate poor adhesion ) have him start it up ...electrics all work ... bike idles properly without having to sit and keep revving it ... no excessive white smoke. Responsiveness on the throttle without much bogging. It's only a P125, so it's not like you're going to run circles around anything - that's a pretty slow engine as is, but it's a good upgrade platform. You could kit it to 166 or 177 without issue and it would be a race machine. I don't know what else to say. The bike looks like someone really knew what they were doing when they restored it, so i don't have much concern. All the parts on it are proper and not obvious asian / indian cheapos. ⚠️ Last edited by Rover Eric on UTC; edited 1 time

Total bodge, you should do the right thing and buy itt to get it off the streets. Of course I don't espect you to have to take up room in your garage so I guess I'll do the honorable thing and offer to let you send it to me....you know just to be nice
Really, looks good and not sketchy at all. |

So what about the price? Sound or not? Should I make a low offer? (I realise that this is a UK only question....)

Well.... if $2500 = 2500 pounds, hell yes...it would be a sweet deal.
In my head, 2500 pounds = ~4100 bucks? It's ok. If you've got money and are looking to get a bike that has all the vintage lines, but a bit more modern reliability, then it's a good choice We just had a GL150 thread last week where we all admitted to loving the scooter so long as there's a different engine in it. |

Right. I now want it. Vintage with modern bits. Just my thing. Like the idea of a decent front brake and a PX engine, especially if the original lump is a POS.

get it i'm serious. it's lovely, plus i need you to learn how manual transmission scooters work so we can fettle together when i get mine - though mine will likely be some variety of awful-looking indestructible shitcan that you'll be ashamed to be seen with

Well.............
Did you buy it yet? Go get it mate. The only thing i would change is that repop speedo, which is easy to do. 2,500 pounds is a still serious money but it might just cost you that to DIY. So go on and get it mate. Good luck Cheers |

Looks the nuts!
Definitely change the plate for an old-style metal one, black with silver letters, I think it's legal at that age. |

Strange that they upgraded the front fork like that. He must have been planning to kit out the engine and then stopped to get it running to sell. $4000 is way too much to me, but I'm not doubting the seller has that or more in it.

It's not a goer really. Have had a long think about it, and although I want a shifty, this isn't really for me. I may go for something else. Had a visit to retrospective scooters today in Turnpike Lane, and they have some lovely restored beasties there.
Besides the guy has advertised and has gone on holiday. |
