Well .. it's been a couple of weeks from hell between more tests and starting treatment. I've been told it's not uncommon to feel much worse for a while before you get used to things. I've also been told - well sort of ordered - to use a cane - whether I think I need it or not.
We also discussed - well I discussed, he went ballistic - over the idea of maybe a 3 wheel scooter. Opps .. this neuro doc didn't realize I even had a scooter = anyhow I won't repeat exactly what he said - suffice it to say it's "NO!" He also doesn't want me driving until further notice. Seems it's not just in the area of the brain that controls balance. He has said I'm not a stage where he has to send a letter to the RMV, but he strongly urged me not to get behind the wheel of a car. When first round of treatment is done, and retesting done, we can reassess things.
When I got home, I realized he never said anything about riding a bike. I figured what the hell .. not as dangerous as driving a car or scooter, how much trouble could it be? I haven't felt off balance or had dropsies in a while. Got bike out of cellar, checked it over, made sure everything was OK, then got on it, started to peddle, then fell over, tried a few more times, each time over balanced and couldn't get more than a few feet.
Put bike away, went in house & sulked for a while.
Looks like it'll be some time, if ever before I can drive a car or ride scooter or bicyle again. So any ideas I had of holding on to one or more of scooters just went down the drain. My cousin is going to handle selling the new BV tourer I'd bought. I'll post the other 50's at some of the local colleges. I don't think I'll have too much problem. Both are in very good condition (a few scratches on the LX50) and extremley low mileage.
