Am I the only one amused by the misspelling of "anal" and "sneak" in both these posts? Particularly in light of the thread subject-matter?

For the record, I am not particularly concerned with the degree to which we adhere to good spelling and grammar on the forum, it just struck me as amusing... back to scooter stuff!

It seems that degeneration of the written language is a hot topic in several languages.

In Facebook there is a group for Finnish speaking people called "A combined word is a combined word" (does such exist for English speakers, I don't know, but it seems that there are a lot of people here who could join!). Finnish has a lot of combined words and it is very annoying when combined words are written with space where it shouldn't be, it can even change the meaning. There's lively discussion in the group about misuse of language and real (or unreal?) concern of its degeneration. Must be unwanted side-effects of the computer and internet era.
