that is so bad and so shitty on so many levels that i don't even know where to begin.

it reminds me of a stripper that is pretty at 30 feet then turns in to your worst nightmare as 5 feet approaches.

The worst part is that it "appears" someone put a lot of work into it.

That person obviously is blind.

No.. i'm wrong. I think someone went to town with a 55 gallon drum of bondo on that thing. It probably weighs 50 pounds more than a P-series normally does.

The tail is rounded, for god's sake!

This is a US market bike, incidentally. ( the fuel tap gives it away ) Somebody locally crafted this monstrosity.

I give them props because they likely spent an insane amount of time doing that.

i'm FAIRLY CERTAIN that's a P-series that's been dressed up with that VBB kit for a P200 they sell on Ebay.uk. They are usually like 200 bucks, and they include new cowls, headset, horncast, fender, etc... all basically designed to fit on your P200 and turn it into a VBB.

Man, do they make it look funky!

Either that, or that guy put a whole bunch of work into really making a P-series look wonky.
That can't be a P frame though, can it? Look at the seat/gas-tank part of the frame... it looks like it tips up at a kind of steep angle. Also the very rear of the frame is round round

My wife thinks he hand-hammered out that thing ( tail, cowls, etc )

I think it's all just been rounded with bondo...except for the tail, that does look like he would have had to have hammered the corners out.

Let me just say I like my own PX just the way it is.
However I find it strange if people don't mind putting a P series engines in an old scooter but find a P series modified to look like an old scooter objectionable????????
Both misrepresentation or misinterpretation?

Put a black seat on it, and it would look tons better. I'd rock that scoot.

I give it an A for effort of restoration/modification (provided it ain't 10 pounds of bondo). D for aesthetics (curved up to a C w/o the hideous red seat.)

I think you are misinterpreting what he was trying to do. If that was a '56 Chevy with the same shaving, shaping, paint and chrome you would say he had made a really fine street rod, and not carp about how unlike an original '56 Chevy it was.

I think it looks really fine and I would ride it until a cop hit me for no turn signals, etc.

Thanks.

I think I like the scoot in question because it reminds me of the heavily modified and chopped 30s and 40s lead sled cars.

I think he should have gone with red cowl rubber, too. Can get it from SIP though it may not have matched correctly.

And not painting the rims? An obvious oversight. They should have been painted black at least.

You couldn't afford it

I couldn't afford to sell it.

You can't tell really now, but the old stickers are gone and replaced with the Telefonica GP set. When I got it the Davida and other sticker were in place to cover up some dings that had been smoothed over but not repainted. I repainted the white stripe and then did the decal set over the scooter.

But I also busted the cases and now have new cases in it that have been heavily opened, welded, modified, etc. The 210 cylinder has been worked. The head is a custom head machined to a 21cc chamber. The Reed block has been reworked to match and flow and the carb adapter is a custom piece made from aluminum to get rid of the problem of the Malossi one cracking.

I have a Worb5 laser welded longstroker crank in there that is the absolute shit.

As I mentioned in another thread I tried to go with a Cosa clutch but ripped it to shreds.

The transmission that came with it was stock P - I am now running a full EFL set up with a P-125clutch to give me lower RPM at the top end. I had a T5 -4th in there but it would rev out at 65mph.

I took out the Dellorto 28 and replaced it with a Mikuni TMX-35. Also have an HP-4 lightened flywheel.

I also added a true SIP wide tire kit. Running a 120 there now, it will fit a 130 but not with that Scorpion pipe. Tire rubs in corners now. When I got it it just had washers to simulate a wide tire kit.

How fast is it? I have no f'ing idea. Due to the way the throttle in the headset works I don't have enough pull to open the slide in the carb all the way. Going to replace it with a quick action or one of those D-shaped pulleys.

As it stands I have about 4-5mm of travel left in the slide to get it to be fully Wide Open Throttle, however I was running up the side of a mountain in 4th gear and left behind (literally left behind and took them 30 minutes to catch up) two Malossi-210 kitted P bikes. They were running 3rd up the mountain, I was running 4th.

No idea how fast it will go though. I have GPSd it at 83.5 mph and that's in the city. Didn't have a GPS on the open road with me and as I said it still has not gone to wide open throttle or fully on the main jet.

I got it in decent shape and now it is in excellent shape. They had birds nested a P harness, it has a new harness, cables, all that. The only thing I need to do is replace the modified fuel filler with a better one.

Maybe one day I'll sell it but I've got so much into it I'd have to need a kidney or something to get rid of it.

I will be saving my pennies...your scoot is sooo sick. I would be honored to run that thing into the ground.

I have a question about your SIP wide tire kit. What is the difference between your older kit compared to the newer 2k tire kit? Does the 2k take less modifications to install or ?

Thanks for sharing your scoot on here!

The kit I have requires you to cut the swingarm 10mm on one side. It comes with a 10mm washer that fits to the other side to correct the movement. Then you pair that with two deep sides of a rim as well as another huge "washer" thing that fits around the rim.

There are other ways of running a wide tire I've heard of (such as just the two deep halves of a rim). The benefit of doing the full monte SIP kit is that you can run a 130 rear tire but ONLY if your pipe will accomodate it. The JL left or the Scorpion left run too close to the tire to be able to run a 130. Other chambers will work I've heard but not sure what they are by name right now.

Not sure if the 226 (?) vintage pipe will work or not.

The builder is an older guy who does classic cars mostly. He's not into the whole scooter scene, so he just did it up how he wanted. I really don't think he was trying to impress any afficinados on the internet.

That being said, it a P series for christ sake, who cares. Stupid mopeds.

Nice. I think the 2k wide tire kit doesn't require shaving but I could be wrong. I would need to contact somebody at SIP

I currently running a 110x80 tire on the back using the wider 1/2 of a GS/SS rim with my stock rim (thanks Max). Worked great and it's a bit wider than the front tire. I've seen the 226 pipe on a 180 Rally here in town...look great..but yeah, not sure if it would fit or not? Next time I see it I will snap some pictures of underneath to get a better idea.
