(also posted on the MP3 board, but thought I could reach more folks here)

Hi there,

I saw a facebook ad for the Grip-lock... the website is www.grip-lock.com and I'm very interested in it for my MP3 250...

It's only $59 delivered anywhere in the world... There's videos on the site showing how it's super tough and would take a long time to get broken into...

What do you guys think of this? I am in a relatively safe area and I know if someone wants my bike, they will get it, just thought it could be looked at as a deterrant if anything..

I'm also nervous about sending them my credit card info and wanted to see if any of you have had experience with them and thier speed of shipping and if they ripped you off!!

Thanks in advance@@

I have one, and like its visibility and ease of use. I don't expect it to stop a determined thief, though.

A quick search on this topic turned up a host of threads, including these

Thanks for the links.. I'm very lazy about using the Search feature, I know I should.. I love the convenience of having the reply notifications come to my inbox...

Seems like their credit card processor is safe, which is more of my main concern..

I'm not really afraid of putting on the web as we have a secure server here, however i hadn't heard from anyone else who has bought these and wanted to make sure they were a cool company and wasn't going to take a year to get it to America

I get mine from aerostitch since the griplock site has them foe nearly twice the price.

I like them. It's a good deterrent, which is about all you can ask for in a lock since if someone wants your stuff they'll take it.

Purchased mine about a month ago from their website. No problems and recieved it in less then a week, which really impressed me coming all the way from New Zealand. Very happy with the product.

I checked out the aerostitch and while the product was on $2 cheaper, the freight to get it to Nevada was $11 at the minimum... I'll stick with the manufacturer

On the web, Aerostich is quoting $57.00 not including shipping and the Grip Lock site is quoting $59.00 including shipping.
I ordered direct from Grip Lock never even thinking to check Aerostich first, which is weird as I am a customer of theirs.
There is a disclaimer on the Grip Lock site about the possibility of additional customs costs or something in some countries, but my charges when it was all over were $59.00 as claimed.

It arrived in 10 days.

Like others have said, it's convenient, visible, easy to use, but would probably not stop a very determined theif. Little does.

I like it.

The only thing I would watch out for is to make sure the button which locks it is fully depressed before you walk away. It doesn't exactly snap loudly into place. You may think it's locked and find that a little wiggle will pop it out again. Just double-check and you'll be fine.

Aerostich says it will fit in your pocket. True, if you don't mind looking like you have a huge banana in there.
