and where can I get some?

I have looked at draggin jeans but I want a pair that I can wear over work clothes and can take on and off at will. Also, what price will I be looking at?

I have been researching over the internet but would appreciate any recommendations.

forget about looking stylish if you're wearing overpants. i've got a pair of alpinestars 'stella' trousers that i absolutely love - they pull on easily over jeans/trousers, they have a zip out insulated liner for winter use, and they don't look too transformer-ish, although i wouldn't really describe them as stylin'

the armadillo women's overpants look pretty on the website but i wasn't all that taken with them - the knee armour moved around a bit too much for my liking, and i found them short in the leg. if you're interested i've still got them and would be willing to part with them for £25 or so - they fit like snowboard trousers and look okay-ish.

as far as where to buy: infinity motorcycles in holborn and great portland street, or sondel on holloway road, are good and central. George white motorcycles in shoreditch has a huge selection of women's stuff .... or J&S in greenwich.

I got my armoured trousers in Lidl and they've been alright going over my jeans for the journeys to and from work. I didn't realise when I bought them, but they've turned out to be the women's ones.

So they're slightly awkward for toilet stops (me being a male specimen) but were very reasonably priced, comfy enough (even in the hot weather - removable lining), and have what seems to be a standard zip for joining up to your jacket - I say "seems to be" because I've only attempted to zip them to two jackets so far, but no problems.

I suppose the likelihood of there being any left in any of the Lidls in Lahndan Town would be slim, but the bikey stuff seems to come round fairly regularly.

They are australian( from philip island) made from cordura with a zip in/out fleece lining for summer/winter. They have armour in the knees and on the hips, rrp in shops is £100, he does them for £39.99 + £7 p&p. only took 3 days to arrive, well pleased with them,

I saw them but was wondering what was the sizing is like? Were they on the big or small side?

Get the same size as you would a pair of jeans or trousers, i wear mine with no trousers underneath cos they are so warm, i suppose if u got a size bigger than normal, and took the liner out, you could wear them as overtrousers. Well worth the money though

I've got the same trousers J and they are brilliant but I think I have the gentlemans pair.
I can't praise them enough. Well I could if I'm honest.

Though if you are long of leg, you may just give up now. I can't find good overpants so it tends to be jeans these days.

And yes, it hurts if you fall off in jeans.

I've found some good info at gearchic.com, and the woman who runs the site and is a gear fanatic will answer emails!

Just looking at the 'Draggin' Jeans' website and I see that are now selling 100% Kevlar liners designed to be worn under any kind of pants. Not quite the overpants that OP was looking for, but these may be a good alternative for those that want to ride to work in dress pants, khakis or whatever. Wear these underneath and just pop in the gents (or ladies) and do a reverse Superman deal by peeling off the undergarments.

As expected though, not cheap.

What part of London are you in? If it's Sth, then I'd say go to Hein Gericke in Stockwell, before popping a mile or two down the road and going to Infinity in Clapham.

Girls bike 2 (see WM's post above) always get good raps.

And forget about looking stylish if you're looking for armoured trousers to go over your work gear. I think it's a great idea to get bike gear which goes OVER your work gear - and it's what I do myself - but you'll end up getting trousers that are necessarily a size or a half-size bigger so that they fit over your work gear. And textiles (I assume you're not asking for info on leathers) are never going to give you a fitted look anyway. So slightly oversized textiles won't ever give you catwalk glam.

At risk of stating obvious, remember to go to the shop with your work gear (or similar) on, so you can try the bike trousers over the top.

That place is just around the corner from my house. I went there when I got the scoot to get a lock and the woman in there was very helpful and chatted to me about riding for about half an hour. I may go back and look for pants there. Only problem was some garmets were well pricey but then again, what price for my sexy legs Laughing emoticon
