Reading about all the complaints, rantz, and whines that come into MV from scootering people who seem so "deeply offended" by misc others who know how to get their goats by disparaging scooters, I keep thinking of the remark, "There are no victims, only volunteers!"

While I know that statement is a generalization, some of the 'woe is me, he hurt my feelings' stuff I read here gets old pretty quick!
Hey, you don't have to take ANY of this scooter-knocking stuff personally, dig? Because no one is going to be loved by everyone, no matter what they do! -And just because someone says something, that doesn't make it true either!

At a big Cruise Night rally in town the other night I had a good time riding my 'lil Buddy 125 in and around the custom cars and super expensive big choppers, getting some laughs and some joyful shouts of appreciation, and prolly even some awe! Fathers pointed out my scoot to their small sons, saying "Look, look, wouldn't you like THAT!
And parking next to a huge Gold Wing, the owner, pointing to my scoot, laughed and said "I could strap that on the back of my bike as a spare". Which I thot pretty funny, and I replied with "Yeah, it's got 125ccs of RAW POWER!"

The point is, I had a good time by not wrapping up my ego and my personhood into what I enjoy riding!

Agreed...sometimes folks just too wrapped up (unfocused) and wrapped up...beat up...and loose sight of the bigger picture...been there.

If I may share an situation where I was asked to present an important company initiaitve (this was already proven to be successful for myself; hence the request to present). Objective was to provide the material and have it implement in the Field. The material I supplied included a "How To" package and included a comprehensive 60 page Power Point slide presentation. I moved thru it rather qickly with the message to tweak it to meet their needs...individually, you don't need to use the entire PP slide presentation...

The night before the presentation a few of my peers commented (negatively) on the size Power Point slide I had sent out prior to the next day's presentation. I went back and inserted the slide below and used to as an introduction to my presentation and told them that I consulted my mentor and guru...The Queen Bee of our household and she had only on thing to say...

...presentation was very well received! Had more comments about Coco then the material presented!

Hey Yardstick, I can't figure out how someone with a yellow scooter and white/yellow seat can have 2 1/2 reds. It boggles the mind. Someone has to be out to get you or like chazzlee says has taken your modifications personnally. Also you might want to be more specific on who you are calling an ass, you stand a better chance if you alianate one person, instead of an entire country.
