He's down to 1 1/2 "no-no" circles

What a bunch of two faced posters you lot are. You spend all the time slagging Yardsale and as soon as he posts here having a go back suddenly he's the best thing since sliced bread and the nicest bloke in the world. Don't know the bloke from Adam but at leats he's got the bottle to speak his mind, and if it offends anyone then tough shit. You carry on mate and bollocks to the rest of them Clown emoticon

Actually, for those who've never tried it,
being in the bottom few on the karma list is REALLY unpleasant
unless you take pride in that sort of thing

It means you're being ostracized

I guess that's just about exactly what I, the OP, meant about growing some self-esteem on yer 'hide'! Because to tell'ya the truth, any 'ratings' I might get here (or most anywhere else for that matter), don't mean a hill of beans to me! I care about people, my intentions are (usually) good, and if someone doesn't quite understand or like me or my ways, there's really nothing I can do about it..., So, so be it! Laughing emoticon

Alan Ginsberg, the very openly gay poet, was once asked wasn't he worried about what people would think about him because of his openness in his writings about his sexuality? His reply was, "What others may think about me is really none of my business!" +1+1+1+1+1

IMHO life is much to short to worry about how many 'good' karma symbols you may or may not have under your avatar here..!! Laughing emoticon Laughing emoticon Laughing emoticon

You make a great point there!

If you have the mod or even a red slash, at least some anonymous individual in the virtual hinterland is acknowledging your existence. Those of us with none of those are so lowly that we don't even register on anyone's radar. We're stealth posters!

OK, that's a pretty good point

<-- ( I'm seeing one raised eyebrow )

There... a thumbs up from the virtual hinterland

Now I'm not so stealthy. Was enjoying my ninja-like ability to sneak in here and post unbeknownst to most.

Is that part of this system? Sort of a TV "Reality Game" type of thing where people can be cruelly discarded by hidden votes of resentment?
I hafta say, I didn't know that...
I think I much prefer relying on the generally good sense and tolerance shown by the moderators here. I mean, that's what moderating a forum is all about, t'aint it?

This thread gives me a headache.

Was it about HTFU, or is it about being all sad if you don't have positive rep? Because it seems like those are mutually exclusive sentiments.

that's not the point of the karma system and jess has gone to some trouble to design it so that people can't/don't use it that way.

this thread is giving me a nosebleed. everybody stop worrying about your damn karma and for goodness sake stop throwing thumbs-ups around like trading cards I believe there is a phrase in the Bhagavad Gita to the effect that 'those who solicit karma points are fated to spend the afterlife cleaning Krishna's toilet.'

I love scooters big, little middle who cares. Not a motorcycle person but; when I see a nice one I stop and admire. So many people so many different taste, what a drag life would be if we were all the same and all rode the same bike, car, whatever. I love the difference in the universe.

When you think you've seen it all - well you haven't. Every day an adventure..............
