Just an early thought... what about doing a photoshop/illustrator tennis game.. for creating flyers and such?? No competition, just adds to the charity ride mood!

I would on a shorter journey - but on this sort of distance with one group, half might be frustrated by the speed, the rest worried they were being pushed out of their comfort zone.
Or maybe not - the 'Surrey Lanes' pace was OK wasn't it? |

Depends a lot on the roads and how often it's possible to do a true NSL.
That said, the difference between 60mph and 75mph is much less than the difference between 0mph and 75mph. In other words, if you're halted marking a junction you never have to wait too long for the tail to catch up. With overtaking of slower riders, the faster riders mark more junctions and everyone's speed averages out |

Richie & Alex , I have no idea what you are talking about but it all sounds good.
Everyone else. I am sure it will eventually depend on how many people decide to join us as to how we decided to ride the route. I am easy whatever we do (although I do favour 2 groups). I am sure we can discuss this uphills and down dales on the 31st in Brighton. |

How do people feel about a a direct route on day one?
So starting from RAF MANSTON to TANGMERE MUSEUM onto Exeter for the night. 267 miles , will allow a bit of time for pics at Tangmere and fuel stops. http://tinylink.com/?U0qcK7PffX And then the next day a more leisurely scenic rout along the coast where possible? ![]() day 2

That sounds lovely! I can't wait
Waiting for final numbers before deciding on groups is a good plan. If it ends up being 5 of us, it would be a bit pathetic to split into a 2 and a 3 (or a 1 and a 4). But hopefully there will be a dozen or more! |

More importantly.......stop over places should be discussed.
I'm going to stay over in Margate Travelodge Friday night. Any ideas for Saturday and Sunday night? |

I've taken the plunge and booked into the Margate Westwood Travelodge on Friday the 9th. £32.00 if you do it now. |

The interwebs really have to be seen to be believed, I have received a bunch of emails from people who disagree with the morality of our supporting H4H. I am getting quite pissed with it.

I must admit, when I first started hearing about 'Help for Heroes' I thought it sounded a bit Daily Maily, and I don't think it's a very good name - bit jingoistic (and I speak as a member of the Royal British Legion!). But I agree entirely with the work they do.

If it continues however I will remove the websites and just leave this thread. If you have any views about this, please do not post them here, send me a PM. I don't want this to turn into something. |

The Lands End Hotel emailed me today. They will give a £10.0 per person discount if we have 20 or more people staying. So if we all share rooms it will be about £50.oo per head.

The travelodge is good by me. If we make a group booking you are looking at £60.00 per room. Some rooms are double (1-2 people) some family rooms (1-3 people) they have 9 rooms available.

Travelodge fine by me - will happily share, don't snore that much apparently (to my surprise). Premier Inns tend to have better bars and eateries, just a thought...
