I'm not much for naming things, or referring to boats, cars, or any inanimate object as "she" or "he". But that said, my GT has been a "she" since I first laid eyes on her. I think she does need a name, but I haven't picked one out yet.

My GTS is Eve il Temptress. She's my first scoot, thus Eve, and the rest speaks for itself.
My P200 is Babs. 'cuz that's how she sounds. |

The Suzuki The Honda Mr. Mopes (the moped) The Cutdown The Racebike The Two Yamahas The RM370 It looks like only the moped got a name, and it wasn't terribly original. I suppose if I had 9 girlfriends, I would call them all Honey or some other pet name just to avoid confusion. It's hard to get emotionally attached when they aren't around very long. The bikes, that is. I think I'm on to something about my character here. |

I recently named my GT200 "Francesca," after Meryl Streep's character in "Bridges of Madison County." I am currently looking for a good artist who can paint a nice moniker on the right rear engine cowling.

My scooter is called "The Scooter" or the "the Vespa."
My guitar is called "The Guitar." (Yup, guitarists often name their guitars.) My Kayak is called "The Kayak." (I don't know if any paddelers name their little boats, as a rule.) OK, no points for imagination here but at least I know of which item I am referring to. Also, as I seem to immune to almost any acquisition syndromes, I only have one of each anyway. On the other hand, both of my daughters have names and I keep getting them wrong. Same with the four cats. Go figure. |

My scooter is called "my scooter."
My bicycles are known as "the black bike" (aka "the fixie"), "the silver bike" (which my girlfriend refers to as "your buddy" but I sometimes call "the mutt"), and "the blue bike." My girlfriend is known as "girlfriend." We generally address each other "Hey, you." Way back when I owned two Saab stories in a row, the first was Olav and the second was Gustav. They lived short troubled lives. Afterwards my cars were known, one after the other, as "my car." Less trouble, longer lives. QED, no more personification. |

I haven't officially named my GTS, but I'm thinking about Principessa. What do you think? Probably not all that original but it is Italian.

Every vehicle I have ever owned has been called Nellie Belle; in honor of Pat Brady's Jeep from the Roy Roger's TV show. Tempermental, but also loyal!
My best friend and soul brother from Champaign, Illinois, Herman Jones, used to call his disaster of a car, a 1970 Ford Torino with a non-secured front seat Nellie Belle, too. If you floored the damn thing, the driver's seat fell backwards and you lost contact with the road. You wound up looking at the ceiling of the freaking Ford from the back seat. It was hilarious! Every bus driver at MTD in Champaign, Illinois in the mid 70's knew and loved that car! He had a 2 by 4 to prop the seat up! If you made it to your relief, you had good reason to party after your shift was over! It just kind of stuck with me through the years... |

Hi, there. Just got my LX 150 on Sunday. His name is Paolo. All the baby name sites tell me it's the Italian form of Paul and that it means "small" or "little." Seemed appropriate.
This is my first scooter, by the way, and I'm totally in love with it already. |

My scooter's name is Scarlet. The name popped into my head the first time I saw her. I always liked Scarlet and I don't see it used often enough. A classic name for a classic bike, even if it is a modern LX and not a true classic.
After I put some engine mods in her, I'm going to change the name to Scarlet-X. The "X" at the end being in part from Racer X in Speed Racer and from the Lambretta Special X. Some pop/sub culture cross pollination going on in the name. -Jeff |

I kinda like Sophia the Country Sedan for benjimen1's scoot over woodie. Nice work on her (how do you maintain that?). Is there a "Country sedan" logo on each side of her?
My scoot has been Ingrid since I've had her. |
