I hate to tell you but this has been done before and quite extensivly... When doing a search try to use a few descriptive words and use the "Search for all terms" option near the top of the page. Here is that thread so you can check it out, there might be something in there about why they named their scoot what they did.

I refer to my LX150 as my Darling Plum as a play on her color, but really don't have a name for either.

I don't mind that this is a repeat of previous threads since I have have replaced Benito. My newest member of my Vespa fleet is Diavolo Fortunato (Lucky Devil) because part of the cost for my 300 Super was from a Vespa S 50 that I won in a charity raffle. Oh and I almost forgot, there were only 666 raffle tickets.

YEP All three have names, the Honda SH is called the SHi-tty, the ET4 is called Flash and the new one the Shifty....

I guess there's nothing new under the sun.... I simply searched "name" and a tonne came up but nothing that seemed immediately relevant. Oh well...

haven't named my yellow lx150 yet. maybe "taxini"

I have had mine for over a year na dI never found a name the stuck... but I think I found one. It's silly but I have been calling it Cricket. I know it's read and ll. For Christmas 3 years ago, i bought my wife a little Cricut machine. It is designed to cut paper when you insert a cartridge with the fonts and shapes. Three years later we have several hundred (thousand?) dollars worth of cartridges and a larger machine.. it is her hobby.

This is my hobby, this is my Cricket.

I don't think I was around for the other threads, and my scooter did not have a name until I had it custom painted.

Now it is the Blue Dragon, and I love it.

1965 Heinkel - Nessie, named by a friend of mine because she's so odd & rare

1979 P200 - Princess, a blatant reference to Spaceballs, because she's spoiled and needy, but she kicks ass at the same time

1958 Heinkel - Brunhilde, because she iss a strongk Tcherman voman!

2007 GTS 250 - Dirty Diana, because she's a salvage bike & was kind of a mess when I got her, and I ride her a lot

2009 GTS 300 - Cream Cheese, because she's white and what else would go better with a bagel?

My scooter was previously called "Benito"

So I decided to call it something that was along the lines of something that meant a bearer.

I ended up calling the scooter "Bernice"

I did not think of the names, they were told to me.
For my GTS my brother's comments were this:

BRO: So, you're getting another Vespa?
ME: Yes, a white GTS 300 Super.
BRO: Are you going to name this one too?
ME: She's called Yukihime, or Yuki for short.
BRO:Why are you naming an Italian scooter something Japanese?
ME: I don't know, ask her! That's what she said her name was! Yeesh.

I never did name my first Vespa, but the new GTS is named Dragonfly.

The first weekend that I owned her, I made my first ever run of the Dragon - Hwy 129 between Tennessee and North Carolina. Immediately before making the run, a dragonfly lit on my leg. I figured it was an omen, whether good or bad, I did not know, but the GTS acquitted herself so well that day, and the ride was so fun, that the name "Dragonfly" just seemed right.

I name everything I have, ask my gf...

My previous scooter was a P200E which I called "The Blue Beast"
But I changed the name to "The Blue Money Pit" before I traded it in.

My scooter's name is Serenity named after the spaceship in the TV series, Firefly and because I thought the azzurro sky color was serene.

I am thinking of naming my GTS Mona. I have a friend from work that I really respect who always made me smile when I had a bad day. She recently killed herself. Everytime I ride my Vespa, I think of her. She would love that I have a scooter.

I vote yes! Mona is a great scooter name (like Mona Lisa, mysterious yet mischevious) Plus it's a way to honor your friend's memory.

Nelli after NellyBelle, Pat Brady's jeep on the Roy Roger's T.V. show. Why? Dunno, exactly. First machine in my memory that was treated with that much respect. She had a personality alright.

Well I kinda have a theme among some of my favorite things, I name them after sodas

Zune - Dr Pepper
Cell - Squirt
Puter - Coca Cola
Wii - 7up

Uma. Yup, named after that Uma, who we all thought couldn't get any hotter. Then she joined the scooterati and went super nova.

Not sure how it came along, but I call my GT200 Scoot-de-boot:

Vespa= Monica

(Later, my husband named our Toyota "Hillary")

Mine is called Penelope - simply because someone at worked named her the first day I brought her in!

I'm a very creative lad, you see, so my ET's name is "Vespa" as well.
It's funny, though, the name has taken on it's own unique personality from the brand.

The P is named "Old Rusty" ~ this name is fairly self explanatory as well. It stems from the fact that he's a battered old survivor. And yeah... when I got him, he was pretty rusty.
