I received a vintage Vigano windscreen that came with my recently acquired 65' SS180. I'm pretty sure that this is a mid-sixties accessory that was bought at the local vespa dealer in 65'. Does anyone know the value of a windscreen like this? I'm thinking about unloading it since I don't have any plans of using it.

pretty awesome. Does the headlight fit through that hole?
I picked up a cheaper 60's windscreen, but it's not as nice as this one. You know my lower section is MADE for a trap headset ... but your upper section is nicer. I wonder if they could be combined for a better fit... |

The trap headlight fits fine in the hole. It's not snug but it's not super loose either. I would imagine it's possible to combine your bottom with my top for the best of both worlds. I plan on going to Scoot-a-que/Columbus in a couple weeks. Maybe I could bring it and you could take a look at it if you are going.

Of course i'm going. You bringing your SS? Have you received it yet?
If so, there's going to be at least 4 SS180's there... my red one ...a clubmate's restored white one .... your original white one ..and nak'd dave's original white one. |

I'll be there for sure with my SS! Wouldn't miss it. Yeh, I picked her up last weekend and I'm having a blast cleaning her up. Got new tires and tubes ordered. She fires right up. Compression is good. Not bad for sitting in a building for 40 plus years. Gonna give her a good cleaning and waxing as well.
Glad to be contributing to the increase of SS180s in the midwest! |

I've got that same windscreen, ran it for years on my vbb. The lower part came in different styles for different scoots. They are really nice in the winter. It's not too hard to replace the plastic or make a new lower skirt either.
As for worth, if you don't want it find someone that likes the "vintage old man scoot" style and give it to them. Not a lot of people value this kind of thing so I figure it's better to get it into the hands of someone that does. |

I'd be interested but I just bought a repro flyscreen from SIP. Haven't put it on yet. Having the "real deal" would be nice though! It gets cold up there...you sure you don't want it for spring and fall?
BTW, I got my SS180 from Ohio. The former owner got it as a Barn Find in upstate Ohio. |

Maybe I'll consider hanging on to it and try it out this fall. I realized that I am missing the mounting arms for this guy. I will need to find some to get it installed. (Anyone know of any?) If someone really wants this unit bad I'd have no problem hooking them up with it, as long as they truly appreciate the vintage vibe of this piece. I'm not trying to gouge anyone but if it's worth something I wouldn't mind getting something for it. It would be a deal I would make sure of it.

Mine has these two metal rods that attach to the windscreen upper part, drop straight down, and bolt into standard headset mirror brackets, which can be bought from anywhere.
