Vespa GT 200 starter turning but engine back fire once now unable to start
The starter is turning ok and engine oil is ok

It was running fine 1 day ago?
Did I flood the engine with gas?

Thanks

Now it's had time to evaporate a bit, try again and re-post with findings?

Tight (frozen, frightened, stuck) bendix gear methinks. Take the transmission cover off and examine. Eyes on the ground are far better than forum voices.

i'd start with the basics:
is the starter bendix engaging the ring gear starting pulley
is the ring gear starting pully in good condition
is the battery fully charged
is the starter relay in good working order.

from there i'd delve deeper:
plug, air filter, carb, CDI, stripped crank...

need... more... info...

current mileage, date and mileage of previous service, etx
otherwise it's all shots in the dark.

best,
-greasy

My bet is the outer pulley splines have rounded off. But we'll have to wait until it's been opened up to find out.

Hi Steve:

Do you have the workshop manuals?

Jimc has been kind enough to provide them here:

Good luck with it!
