I took some advice from the board and ordered the coil and wire loom rubber bits that were missing on my VBB (see below), after installing I had no tail light or daylight running light. Everything worked well before. I've gone over the schematics and everything is hooked up in the terminal block as before. The brake light works when the lights are off, but does not when the headlight is turned on, what did I mess up ?

The wiring is really simple on this bike.

Go view the thread "fixing stators 2, electric boogaloo" for a breakdown on how you basically have 3 seperate circuits in that wiring harness, how each one works individual and independent of the other, and how each one expects a certain amount of "load" on it ...meaning the combined wattages of the bulbs on that circuit.

It's an important thing to digest ... particularly note the diagrams that MDchanic photoshopped up that separates out the circuits so you can see each one individually.

Chances are you have a bad ground somewhere. Like, open up your tailight and ensure that both bulbs connect to a ground... and check that ground with a multimeter to ensure that there's 0 ohms resistance with the engine block.

This is exactly what is happening with my vnb. Did you resolve this?
