all the author had to do was just remove the "white".. and it would have been funny... Sorry I did not find that funny at all.

geez well now I feel like a total jerk... sorry for the repost (shoulda looked harder....) I'm not a big fan of redudancy either so my apologies.

and re the race issue.. honestly didn't even think about it.. Part of me wants to say lighten the hell up, the other part wants to say I'm sorry...

honestly, I just thought it was a funny lampooning of me, a white guy riding a vespa who is sometimes a little to proud of his scooter.. sorry for any offense, although I'm sure it wasn't exactly meant in a literal sense (i.e white guys ONLY ride scooters).. but take it for what you will your certainly entitled to your opinion!

I teach issues of racial, economic, and social inequities at the university level and as such am hyper-aware of how such articles can rile folks up. Taken from a 'comical' viewpoint (think Jeff Foxworthy and his take on 'rednecks') I find the website you cited to be pretty funny. In my experience, if the 'fun making' tends to get under ones skin, it usually means it is hitting a little too close to home, so to speak...

I also have empathy for those who might be offended as well... but what would the world be like if we didn't have a bit of variety in our opinions and life's experiences? It'd be bland indeed.

I'm on the 'lighten up' side. As someone who has experienced racism quite a few times in his life I can honestly say that the most offensive thing about that article is the amount of times it's been posted on here

My coments were not aimed at you but at the author. I just hate to be pigeon-holed into a set behavior by someone who has no real mind of his own. And something like this just stirs up old crap of raceism and white elitist behavior. I am sure if this had been a 1st posting then the comments would have flown furrious.

I didn't know this had been posted before either. Stuff gets lost under the pile of postings, and comments, and new stuff it is really difficult to find out if something has already been brought up.. and with a link like you did I imagine it is impossible to find with the search. So do not worry about this artical having been posted before. Just don't make a new post for it..
I guess the way it was written just ticked me off, so I could not see the hummor of it.

haha! i like when people re-post this just to see how annoyed people get! i think it's hilarious! and i'm a white girl who grew up in the ghetto! humor is humor. sometimes people take things too personal or it hits too close home or maybe they're just PC...but don't feel like an ass for posting. peoples sense of humor's differ and i personally enjoyed reading it again!
