Maybe it was the center stand or exhaust, but I was making a sharp left turn, and in the middle of it I heard a grind, and it bounced my scoot up a bit.

That'll wake you up in the morning.

I tried to look for damage, but couldn't find anything, thankfully.

I bet it looked cool though. 8)

Probably the exhaust on a left hander. Gets your attention the first time

Nice Meg! You're tearing it up!

Just remember that you are basically forcing the scoot to lean, so don't panic when that happens, just "engage the lean less." Braking or turning the handlebars can be dangerous for the control of the turn. Just a smidge less countersteer and you're golden

glad you were able to stay up - maybe you made some good sparks tho!

I wonder if I'm ever gonna touch something in my leans, hasn't happened yet.

when you're down like that more throttle, no brake.

Edit: Also make sure your side or center stand is fully retracted, if it doesn't, replace the spring that holds it up. You can get in serious trouble if it drops down in a corner.

Yup, definitely no braking.

I just extended my turning radius a little because the lane was large enough, and just throttled through the turn. No biggie.

I just remember when I first started riding how unsure I was of those tiny tires. I would slow waaay down and be almost completely upright through turns. I just didn't realize how confident/aggressive I had gotten. Kinda neat to think about, ya know?

Yep. When I switched from Motocross to street bikes it was a huge learning curve - not sticking my leg out past the front fork, not letting off the gas and usingmy foot to push the bike up in a turn, etc etc

Now the sides of my boots are worn out, the exhaust is scraped and I've ripped the shift box off a couple scoots.

The "throttle through a turn, not brake" is one of the biggest things to learn and I sincerely wish no one could leave an Moto safety course without scraping a foot peg, floorboard, or dragging a knee. I think there'd be a lot fewer wrecks if that were the case because to hit the throttle when you think you are too far is against what our bodies want us to do which is to STOP whatever it thinks we are doing wrong and we do that by slowing down and braking - which, as you know, in a turn results in crash.

I had to remove the centerstand from the Ducati because it scraped in left hand turns and would always give me a bit of a jolt when it happened.

My MSF instructors were so proud of "scooterboy" (as they called me) when I scraped the foot peg

The dumbass who posted that video on youtube say: "From the French film 'Taxi', the opening sequence featuring a wannabe Formula 1 driver Pizza Boy on a moped tearing it up on the streets."
Uh hello, let's see that done on a "moped".

Someone told me something interesting yesterday that you can catch your foot in a steep left turn and get involuntarily upshifted (if that's where your shifter is) I never really thought about that.
