Is there any use for this space? I cannot seem to find any use for it as it is configured stock....any ideas on mods so it can become useful?

Dunno if the ET and LX gloveboxes are drastically different, but I keep cargo net, car park proximity pass, tyre pressure gauge, and old rag (for drying down the seat) in mine. Sometimes gloves too.

I keep my air gage in it. I bought some velcro tabs and I stuck half on the gage and half on the back wall. Holds it in place and doesn't knock around. I also keep a bungee cargo net in there.

I keep tools inside a vespa (leather) pouch in my glove box. It squishes into one side nicely and keeps my pet carrier free of that stuff. I am going to line the other side with a velcro friendly material and keep things like license, ownership, compact rain jacket and anything else I can think of that I can vecro in there.

There is not alot of space in that glove box, on my LX150, and I would think it is close to the same as on your LX50... so with the stearing column running through it and those bulges running through both sides that does not leave a lot of room left.
I stick in there whatever I can, especially when going on a long ride. Sunscreen, camera, just what ever I can fit.
It is the space you have so you will have to work with it. I have had the glove box pannel off my scoots several times putting lighting and turn signal buzzer mods in and there really isn't any space left.
If you were determined to cut and glue or refab the glove box you might be able to get some space right below the bottom surface of the glove box floor.

Somthing like this... but then you would have holes that you would have to be able to reach into with your hand to get stuff out of the bottom. They would kind of be like cups, at the bottom on each side.
Maybe something like this if you take your scoot apart you can come up with the clearances.

I put my registration and proof of insurance in a ziploc bag along with a neodymium magnet. Sticks to the frame inside the glovebox. I also keep a terrycloth and some other random stuff in there. But I agree that it's not all that useful.

With slight modification, I find the lockable space to be quite useful. I've added a horizontal velcro strap across the front on the inside about 4" up as a rail to keep stuff from falling out.

I keep an organizer wallet in the left side with my registration, insurance card, a couple of spare bulbs, fuses, nuts and bolts, etc. In the right side, I carry an enhanced onboard tool kit in a cordura zipper case.

Guys good ideas for what to keep in the glove box. I haven't used mine, but now I'll move some of those smaller things (that you've mentioned) that I keep in the top box to the glove box. Very useful post!

Fascinating. It appears that nobody keeps gloves in the glove box. I usually bring my gloves with me when I walk away from the scoot... or else keep it in the pet carrier.

Lots of good ideas here. Just remember that the glovebox isn't very waterproof. Anything you don't want to get wet should probably be kept in a sealed bag as many have already mentioned. At one time there was a glove box organizer available that would help keep things organized in there, but I've never been able to find one

Mine's jam-packed. I've got my rain gear squeezed in one side, a tire patch kit on the other side along with an air gauge, and my registration.I was going to modify it to have it all swing out with the door...but got lazy.

I used to until one really cold day. When I went to put on my gloves, they were almost frozen. Headache emoticon Now, I take them with me in the wintertime.

Hi , when spraying my ET4 glove box I found a useful space behind the r/hand knee pad. This is where the 2 stroke model had its reservoir , a 500ml coke bottle fits!! I am going to try to find a spare-in-a-can that will fit it, means my box and carrier not bunged out cheers Bill

In addition to my registration, I keep a compact reusable shopping bag to use when I go to the market.

That pretty much sums up winter riding here in Christchurch, New Zealand Like this morning, it was 0C/32F and even though I had my gloves with me in the house, by the time I walked to the scoot the gloves felt frozen already. Maybe it's time to install hot grips... (well I said the same thing last winter...)

I installed a 12v socket on the left side, on the top of the inside of the box. The pouches on the sides are cheap ammo pouches. It's all held in place with Velcro.

On left: pen, iPhone/iPod charger, pouch for holding whatever's being charged. Center: document holder containing registration, insurance and emergency contact info. Right: Maglite, adjustable wrench, screwdriver, hex keys. Still room on the right for my disc lock and plenty more. I'll also sometimes carry towels or trash bags in there.

I find myself asking the same question. I do throw in my keys, camera, or misc stuff in there. I get to hear them rattle while riding. Wish there was some cargo net and padding there so the stuff will fall out when opening.

Vespa sells a glovebox organizer for the LX, or at least they used to. Haven't seen one in a while.

Found the glovebox organizer you were talking about. Gives me good ideas what I can do with the glovebox.
