Modern Vespa

im thinking of replacing the workings of my stator with that of a vespa t5 , ive put a skipper 4t in a px frame & after speaking to a guy from a local scooter shop he informed me that the stator was part imobilised?, i thought diffrent after looking at wiring diagrams for this motor. my original intention was to just pick up a live from the original stator , conect to a px coil & into the px harness , i thought this would be ok until i was told of the "imobilised stator" .
i know you can buy a cdi that bypasses the imobiliser built in to the bike but this fitsin after the stator !!!

I suspect there are no replies because no-one knows both the Skipper and the T5 in any detail.

My best guess (and it is a guess) is that your original plan of just using the Skipper stator "as is" has a good chance of working. The stator itself won't be anything to do with any immobiliser - it'll have a three-phase winding and a pickup coil - but that is my guess, remember!

thanks for that, im pretty sure once the motor is turned the stator should produce power & once you got power its just a process of leading away from that . im gna try make some time this week n have a tinker with it, i havent had much time the last few months with work, hollidays n stuff but im determined to have the motor fire up before i put tis project away for the winter

The stator isnt immobilized, its just the cdi unit that is... so youll be fine.
