Hello world of MV's, and thanks for the warm welcome!
I'll see if I can find some pictures of my late "Transformer-ET"

and post them later on. My new LX is stock, and I chose to go with black'n tan. It may not be the best colour safetywise, but the Vulcano-nero shure looks good!

TheJ Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:53 pm Hello and welcome, Lou(?)!
Whereabouts in Norway are you? Not that I know Norway, but I'm interested to find out how bad your Winters are.
Do you get use of the scoot over the Winter? We're pretty much ok through all seasons, as long as you don't mind rain (not minding the rain is even a required qualification here for Summer riding).
I'm itchin' to get something bigger myself, but my wages are getting ringfenced for another "project" currently...
I live about 20 km from Oslo. It's located in the southeast of Norway, but our winters can still be bad. I'll see if I have some pictures from last winter when we had extreme amounts of snow. The effective scooterseason will be april-october, but we can have icy roads in the start and end of the season
. This summer has been split between very nice weather and good temperatures in the start, but it has been raining a lot of the time since early July so I haven't ridden as much as I would like this summer

WaspLover Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:56 pm Welcome to MV!
I like the 2-stroke 50cc engine of the LX50. Most of the time they are perfectly suited to what I want it for - riding around in the city. There was however once where the headwind was so strong I can barely stay on the indicated 60km/hr (usually it will do an indicated 70-75km/hr). That means my real speed is close to 50km/hr... which many drivers think it's too slow for the road (which has a speed limit of 50km/hr). Other than that I think the 50cc is a fun little ride to have.
I tend to enjoy the scenery more when I'm riding a 50cc scooter vs a motorbike. I'm thinking of doing a long-ish ride over the hills this weekend (where the road speed limit will be 100km/hr, of which I will have to ride illegally in the road shoulder as if I'm riding a bicycle).
Have fun, and post some photos!
I totally agree. It's suited for most of my riding. But, as Copper Dolphin wrote, I may have been infected with the scooter bug, and I realise that a on a longer trip I would feel safer with a bigger engine.

judy Fri Sep 04, 2009 12:30 am Aloha and welcome. Enjoy that new scooter of yours and post some pics Haven't been to Norway yet but it's on my list of "to see". Ride safe.
Thank you. Although the scenery around here is nothing compared to your parts of the world I'll see what I can find of pictures.

Copper Dolphin Fri Sep 04, 2009 12:25 am Sounds like you have been infected with the scooter bug... It usually starts with a few detours now and then.. Next you know your riding clean across that countryside... with no idea where your going and not caring one wit...
Welcome to MV and post some pictures so we can see what kind of roads you have over there to ride on!!
You may have a point Copper Dolphin. I enjoy riding the LX more and more, and I really hope that we will have a nice fall this year so I can put some more km on it.

Wibbo Fri Sep 04, 2009 11:40 pm Velkommen til forumet
Takk for det Wibbo. Dette ser ut til å være et sted hvor jeg kan lære mye om både scootere og kjøring. Hvor i kongeriket holder du til?

J. D. Hart Sat Sep 05, 2009 11:51 pm Welcome Loupgarou! I'm new here myself. I hear Norway is a beautiful country, although it may be a wee dab colder than I like. Was ABBA from Norway?
Sorry my friend. Close, but no cookie. They're Swedish.

Spot on Aviator47! Loupgarou = Werewolf. Last week I had a great meal of saganaki and stifado on a nearby Greec restaurant. I have been to Kreta, Rhodos and Santorini, and I just love your country and all your good food (and your Ouzo).
