I have a P125X and I noticed today that when I was WOT in 4th that it felt as if I was loosing power but I was taking a left hand turn so I had to slow down anyways but I think I noticed it slightly when I was in 3rd too on the way back and when climbing a hill in 4th i felt it starting to lose its power and slow down before I got to a stop light. I would pull all the way back on the throttle and after like 20 seconds it started slowing down... Almost like i was running out of gas but I just filled up. I know I need a new battery, could the battery be doing it?

Anybody know what to check first or if I should go ahead and replace the spark plug (just got the scoot so not sure when last spark plug was replaced)

clean and blow out the carb. it should only take you 30 mins. unless its your first time.

check your spark. take the plug out and put the cap back on, set the tip against the engine at a spot where it can ground and kick over the engine a couple times. the spark should be bright blue. p.s. only hold the sparkplug by the cap. if you dont you are in for a surprise.

report back your findings please.

does your px have a fuel tap? if so would suggest taking that apart. sometime with gas the way it is now the rubber inside statrts to swell and restricts the fuel flow. just a thought

i dunno if we have a same problems here, just a few hour ago i was riding my sprint v to a mountain and in the hill climb my 4th gear was soooo slow then usually and the smoke from exhaust are blue and white, i even have to pull down in the side walk and rest my vespa and i instantly know that the problems was i overweight the load (me and my cousin both were 120 kilo and the tank are very full) also the problems effect with the weather i have today (it was 33 celcius degree) so my vespa is overheat as well being overload.. after a 30 minutes resting in side walk my sprint were able to climb again but still unable to use 4th gear but when i going home it was raining and i gain the power also the momentum easily Razz emoticon for sure i need to check more detail tommorow
my sprint is resting for a while in the sidewalk today after overheat in mountain hill climb

I'm going to try that, I'll have to do some research on how to clean out the carb unless anybody here knows a link with instructions or whatever. I have the Haynes manual hopefully I can find it in there. Thanks for the tip! I'll check the plug in a few! I don't think I had the choke out smallstate.. I'll be sure to keep an eye on it

this one has oil injection (not sure if you do) but the process is the same.

well to make it simple ish

go for a ride and when you get to about 35-40 miles hour go wide open throttle ---------ie give it full gas ..... when you do that it should accelerate gradually and smooothly if it bogs down or doesnt accelerate thats a too big a main jet
