Recently, I'm experiencing a weird change in font size for the left column, with names and avatars, etc. See the picture below.

The font size in the actual thread is as usual, the left column is oversized.

Is it my computer or are you playing with something, Jess?

Yeah, I see that occasionally, too. On a single post, not all of them, when it happens.

Yeah, it is only occasionally, and if I would click to reply and went back to the original page, it would be normal again.

I've never seen that personally. That doesn't mean it isn't happening of course, it obviously is. It would help to know what browser / OS combination you're using, so I can try to reproduce it. Nevermind. Looks like FireFox on Windows, yes?

Anyone see this on any other combination of browsers?

I run FF ver 3.0.13
Win XP Pro

It almost looks like bad css code or something...

Happens for me also on a Mac with Firefox and Safari. I haven't noticed it yet with the two latest versions I'm running: Safari 4.0.2 (but I hardly ever use that anyway) and Firefox 3.5.2 Happens on Windows XP Pro machine with Firefox too ( don't know which version, that laptop is at work) In either one, closing the browser and re-starting usually fixes the problem.

I haven't seen that since I've been on my Mac. I used to see that fairly regularly when on Windows XP with either IE or Firefox if I recall correctly, but that was two years ago for me.

Jess, I haven't seen the weird font sizing ... but a few times recently (maybe a week ago) I saw posting from a new member who uses an email address as their nic. Because the address is soooo long, it pushes the border of the left column outwards and into the message frame. Don't know if the system is intended to handle this that way or if it is a small bug.

I took a (brief) look around but couldn't find it. If I do run across it again, I'll take a screen shot and post it here ... unless you already know about it?

Using Mac and Safari.

Yeah, I'm aware of that one. Pushing the border out, while somewhat annoying, is preferable to having the name overflow the box, so I let it get pushed out. The real issue is that people keep using their email address for a username. Just in the last 24 hours, I added the @ symbol to the disallowed name list, such that anything with an @ symbol will get rejected as a username during registration.
