2007 Vespa LXV 150- Salvage Title
Vehicle Description

This is a Vespa LXV150 that took a spill, and was once paid out by insurance company, however it is still ridable; I have been riding it just fine, just the way it is for a while now. The damage can be fixed, there is no frame damage, or any damage that would effect its drivability whatsoever. There are only dents in the sheet metal areas which can be straightened out. If you don't care about looks, this bike will be fine. It has only 1055 miles on it and runs great. The fuses for the headlights and electronic starter switch are blown, but it starts with the kickstart perfectly, and runs good. The brake lever is broken, and the the headlight ring came off, and one mirror broke off.. All damage is visible in the pictures. A few hundred dollars will make this bike look good again. Scooters like this one sell for $5,500 plus tax brand new... Here is your chance to get one dirt cheap! Buyer must make arrangements for this item to be picked up somehow. : ) Happy Bidding!
I found this on ebay, thanks to a post here on MV!! Took your advice and went with a TnG... Should be picking in up on tuesday, gotta drive to Conn. from NC to get it... what should i look for during inspection??? Thanks to all for the friendly imput, yehawwwwww..........

Salvage title knocks price down by over 50% just to start off with. Make sure you can get a salvaged vehicle registered in your state. Some states you can't, some you can after an inspection by state DOT or some other Dept.

Make sure you get the brown/red key that goes with the bike too.

How much did you end up paying for it? Where in NC do you live? If you need some help with it, let me know. Good luck and have fun, but be very careful driving it home and make sure you check it over really good before driving a damaged scooter that far.

If you can tow it back, I would do it just to be cautious. You never know how badly damaged it really is. I would hate to get stuck on a broken scoot in the middle of nowhere.

Point taken, however this could be a once in a lifetime adventure... bike only has 1k miles on it, i would fix the front brake, pac a small bag and hit the trail, except for an unexspected breakdown what else could be bad...

Starboard-That's quite the ambitious trip! I'd be a little cautious about riding a 150 down I-95 and through New York, New Jersey and DC. The 150's a nice little engine, but you'll be in some big time traffic-not sure that you'll always be able to keep up. And I've experienced some pretty nasty cagers along that route. There might be a route you can take to stay away from the interstate, but that's still a long ride.

Do you have any experience riding a bike? if this is your maiden voyage, you might be ripping off more than you might want to chew. I'd hate for you to get all the way back to Charlotte and hate your new bike. Bob

The add listed a few things that throw up huge red flags for me.. So I would not try to ride it that far, even if you have a friend follow you back home all the way.
1. -- it does not start with the electric starter.. (LX150's are very hard to start with the kick start) so much so I took mine off.
2. -- it has blown fuses... that does not happen from laying it down, there are some serious electrical problems with this scoot. Possibly wires pinched during the wreck, that shorted out.

With all this damage, do not pay over $2000 no mater what and try to get it for less. Body dents alone take $300 to $800 or more to fix, it also sounds like the headlight housing needs to be replaced, and probably quite a few more peices. This could end up costing you more than a new one would, depending on how much of the work you do yourself.

Remember this is a great chance to get a LX150 very cheep, and it is a good chance to learn how to work on things and replace and repair all the things that are wrong with it. I do not want to rain on your parade, so plan on trailering it, fix up the electrical then decide what other damage you want to fix up. Ride it and enjoy it when ever you can.
Good luck, and I hope this works out to be a good scooter for you!!

the truth is you won't know tell the cost start adding up, you can try to restore to new or you can make a rat bike of it as far as it goes you own it so make the best of it. My salvage GTS cost me around 2800 bucks and I don't mind the salvage title. its only paper I myself don't have plans to sell it but have recived 3 offers to pay me 3500. but like I said no plans to sell. I know one thing you will enjoy learning about your new to you vespa good luck.
