After searching everywhere for tires for the LT150 to replace the Pirelli Mandrakes-which Pirelli says were never available in the US- I thought I had finally found an acceptable set from Motorcycle Superstore. The Shinko front-80/80-16 fits fine, the Michelin Pilot City Urban at 120/80-14 will not work as it rubs. The guy at the vendor had said it should be no problem and I had attached spacers to the existing Pirelli tire to try and make sure it could accept the 120, but I guess something in the tires configuration is unacceptable.

Anyone heard of Deli or Achilles tires?

There appears to be a Sava MC26- but the Savas aren't very appreciated it seems.

I've also found several overseas references to this tire, Michelin 110/80-14 59P Pilot Power Sport TT

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Anyone know if Motorcycle Superstore will let me return the Pilot City?
I haven't called yet.

I had the same problem and ordered these Kenda tires. I'm happy with them... but it's not like I had much of a choice lol

Did you ever fix the problem?
I just did the same thing - mounted some 120/80-14's onto my lt150 and it rubs somewhere on the frame and/or the fender. Did you ever find a way to space it out and make it work? Or do I need to order another freaking tire?

I had to order from the UK.
I believe it was a Shinko front and a MAXXIS rear.
Did the same thing first with the rub problem.

My LT150 was stolen 2 years ago, though.

Good luck!

We have a couple 110 Mandrakes left. We had to buy them from Piaggio and they are a small fortune at $140 if I remember correctly. Give a call if anyone needs one.

I got my Heidanau's from the ScooterShop as well. Stand up people. I didn't have much of a choice either. They were the about the only ones i could find that would ship the tires for under $70. Cost me $15. 8) Max did try tho.

My new Liberty125 (LT) came with maxxis tyres which are pretty good

But when I come to change them the only tyres I will fit are the michelin 45

http://www.bits4motorbikes.co.uk/Tyres/Michelin-Tyre.html?TryeID=115

I have already got the front michelin 90/80-16 which was £17.50 on ebay Razz emoticon

Thanks y'all - looks like I've got some options. Suppose I'll do my searches on "tyres" instead of tires, and then I should find something internationally... I'm going to try and mod my scooter first to make the 120/80's work. Worth a shot I suppose

Would a 120/70-14 work better for clearance is it rubbing on sides or top of tyre
Above tyre works out aprox same height as the 110/80-14 fitted as standard

Update
Hey y'all, thanks for all your help. I ended up sticking with the Shinko 120/80/14's and modifying the fender to make it fit. I taped a nickel to the top of the tire and turned to find out where the nickel would get stuck and see where the tire was rubbing. Did it again on the sides and found it wasn't rubbing on the sides at all. I cut a piece off of the fender, and drilled new holes to be able to mount the fender about 1/2" higher than normal and the tire works fine - no rubbing anywhere. Worthwhile mod so now I can always buy the 120/80's.

Be aware with tight tolerances. Tires can change shape at higher speeds. They usually get taller, but not wider.

Just to add to this the standard tyre sizes for the liberty ( LT ) 125/150
Front - 90/80-16 Rear- 110/80-14

But in about 2005 when they undated the styling they brought out the 200cc version ( but not for long ) which apart from a bigger bore size and bigger tyres was exactly the same as the smaller versions

Tyre sizes for Liberty ( LT ) 200
Front - 100/80-16 Rear - 120/70-14 so these will fit the 125/150cc with no problems of rubbing etc
