My vote is maybe up to $3500 because it is so minty fresh. That thing will run like a top for years, so that's a plus.

I'd say the 200cc's makes it closer to 4k easy. It's not common to run into a PX200 with a pink slip. If you can get it for less than 4k you are good to go!

That thing is begging to be a cut down racer.

Yeah seriously?

It's worth whatever someone wants to pay for it and whatever the seller will take.

However if it's gray market better be sure it can be registered, or just don't register it like most of us.

I think it's worth the 'buy it now' price. It's basically brand new (not perfect, but close).

The ad is right. px200s were newer imported here. they pop up occasionally. That one is registered, which is a plus. Awesome bike. I would totally covet it.

how much would it cost to replace or fix the front fender? Might be something to use for leverage.

i saw that someone had made a comment/question about that.

a fender will set you back anywhere from $44-66, depending on where you get it... if you had it painted and installed at a shop, that could run into the hundreds, i guess. it's the one notable imperfection, but it's not a big deal at all...

there are lots of really nice bikes for sale right now... and the expensive ones don't seem to be selling very quickly. it might be worth offering less than the sale price, and if the person wants to get rid of it quickly, they might take it. never know. it's frustrating to sell things. it takes a lot of time and patience to find someone willing to buy at a premium (even if it's worth it)...

I'd be leery of it. The VIN does not corespond with the later disk models. Those start wit Z. They changed from the V prefix in the late 90's. The speedo is also an older style.

I'd pay no more than $2800 - $3000

i think the Z vin (ZAP?) was a code for Piaggio/Vespa on US imports? I just discovered that with my p200. The US Vin is on a sticker, but not stamped on the body...

According to my copy of Vespa Tecnica 5, the VIN went over to ZAP in 1998.

I really, really like it. If I were a suspicious type, I might imagine that some people are diminishing the value perhaps due to their interest Razz emoticon

OK, maybe not, but I bet that it goes for a pretty penny. I would fill that dent and repaint right on the machine, no problem...

More pics if you get it!

speedo--early 90s
all lights early 90s
seat -wierd
handgrips early -90s
the badges are mostly correct for 2003-mostly
vin early 90s
3 speed wtfeck
glovebox latch -- early 90s

Im not saying its shit just that everything on it except the seat and 2 badges are all early or mid 90s

actually everything on this bike is legit from what i see - im sure the seller meant to put a 4 speed - either that or he never knew to go to first and always started in second

Other than that it seems fine. i have a late edition (gray market) PX125 just like this one http://www.scootersales.com.au/Gallery-1197-scooternews.aspx the speedo is the same, except mine is white, my turn signals are clear instead of yellow - other than that its pretty spot on. the VIN should be a ZAPM - this has nothing to do with being a US import or not - my model was never offered in the US. I can send any pics you like if it helps you in your decision.

yes the link to scooter sales is what a 2003 px should look like

but that grey one just doesnt look like that at all . all the lights are early 90s and the tail light is a different shape with different trim etc etc etc

you could poke me in the eye with a sharp stick but i would still say its a early or mid 90s bike

the pe and px 200 models have been imported to australia the begining to the end of production . im not just pulling this info outa my arse

sigh

i think 3000-3400 would be fair if it runs well and the odometer reading is honest

that would be about 3700 -4000 ozy dollars wich is cheap but reasonable but i dont think i would come across a bitza like that here thats a genuine 2003 model

that thing is weird - so confused by the badging, instrument panel, seat, lights, etc. That cannot be a "modern" PX can it?

FYI - I bought my '04 PX200 for $3,200 and it was in similar condition.

i really like the styling on the 90s models for some reason , maybe because my first px was that era

if i where to buy it i would probably put back the original badges and fender crest. but im not sure about the legshield trim on the silver colour usually theyre black sort of perforated plastic on red or green paint models etc

ill see if i can find a photo or two for the badges

here is the left fender badge it should have but minus the colours most likely

? confused - the badge on the horncover doesn't look like the modern one. Plus, the light is the glass version - isn't that the old one?

So is it correct for an import? Or is there still something off about it?

I can go and look at it, but I wouldn't know what to look for. It's my 1st vespa so I just don't want to over pay for it.

Thanks,
Rick

ricky

to answer your question no its not correct for an import or any bike be it 90s or 2003

but if it runs well and the paint doesnt look dodgy on closer inspection its probably a good bike

and even if it is 90s you'd still have a newer p200 than most other folks in america

i wont advise on a price because i live in a different country with different imports and currency

good luck

Here are some pics of my recently sold 2000 PX200. I got it directly from the guy who purchased it new in France and brought it over to California. It' was bone stock except for the Malossi 210 top end. Looks pretty much like the one on eBay...

However, it does look as though the rear cowl has some dings on it, and that front fender is gonna cost ya some bucks to have removed, painted and replaced. My PX had a ton of chrome options, an upgraded 210 Malossi top end and after two months of offering it for sale, finally sold it for $4700.00. I am thinking a fair price for that silver one would be around $3500.00, as you will put some dough into it getting it straightened out and dialed in. Make sure it really has a certificate of title too!
