This my friends is my new ride...











Bought it a few days ago from an ex motorbike mechanic who has spent 18 months rebuilding and restoring it. Also turns out that the guy is an old friend of my fathers who hasn't seen him in about 20 years...so that was a bit crazy.

I couldn't get my hands on a scooter for the sort of money i have at the moment (waiting for the insutance to come through on the now deceased Beast 2 ... ) so found this in the very small ads in wales and bob's seems to be my mothers brother.

It needs an MOT and registration but that shouldn't be a problem as i kicked it over today (its been standing for about 4 months) and it fired up first kick...wooohoooooooo! 500cc of ex military classic tank like Armstrong all for the princley sum of £800

oh yeah my new ride isnt the cat BTW (i'm bad but I aint sick in the head) the cat's name is Jethro and he took an instant shine to the new purchase which will be named Foxy.....

Like the maniac I saw yesterday riding a big quad on the road. At the front on a roundabout, heard a deep rumble and watched cars scatter in my mirrors. Wondered what was happening. Then this maniac filtered a quad through the cars, went round the roundabout on 3 wheels. Feked off.

Funny question, but is that engine electric start also or just the kicker?

its just the kick, start none of that new fangled electrickery starting on this baby and as a wise man once said... Electric starts are for pussies or people with wooden legs. I was a bit concerned about having to kick a 500cc bike but when i was playing around with it yesterday a managed to kick iit with the decompression lever pulled in and when i say kick it i managed to do it with my hand!!!

as for matt blacking the fucker.... Well i'm leaving it as is at the moment out of respect to the guy who restored it and also it may actually be an original red Armstrong that was used in militry service in Northern Ireland and if thats the case then there were only 250 of those bikes issued, most of the other 2250 were olive drab or dessert sand. And i may be getting soft in my old age but i love the way it looks as it is.

I think it's because the Germans, Austrian and Eastern European stuff all has the chain drive on the right hand side. But I'm not sure why That is...
