The gt200 lv pipe is a one piece pipe with no spot for the lambda probe .
The GTS with its fuel injection needs that sensor, so the one for the GT will not work. Sorry. |

on a related note, i need a new exhaust clamp as my pipe is leaking and sounds really loud. I can't seem to find one online and my dealer says he can't get hold of one.
it's the clamp that connects the silencer to the downpipe near the water pump. any suggestions gratefully received. |

Don't ride it! You'll either melt your brake line or your wiring depending if you have had the recall header pipe fitted. Have you tried scootech? 020 8983 4111
It probably isn't your clamp, but your graphite gasket... EDIT, you have an LV, doesn't this have its own clamp? Wrap a bit of foil around the brake pipe where it is close to the header, until you get it fixed. I have a spare LV in the shed if you need the part in a hurry. Call me if you want. |

Is it possible a muffler shop would be able to make a spot for the sensor?
i have a friend that owns a shop, so might it be possible if we use the threaded part ( if the sensor is threaded ) from the original? If it is not possible then I hope i get outbid on ebay then ! |

Yes the exhaust will physically fit, the GTS and the GT had identical exhausts apart from headshield fittings and shield shape.
But you would need to get the lambda sensor fitted... |

Your question reminded me of a dream I had recently. I dreamed I had worked for ten hours straight, installing mufflers. I woke up exhausted.

Indeed it does. It goes to the computer chip. It samples the oxygen level in the exhaust gasses which allows the computer to adjust the air/fuel mixture in order to conform with current air quality standards. But, along with that, performance can be enhanced with a more precise ratio of fuel to air.
I think a clarification is in order. There is no onboard computer as such. That is to say there is no processor, as our PC's have. The MIU, located next to the throttle body, is a printed circuit board containing the parameters necessary for designed engine performance and include throttle setting, water temperature, crankshaft position, and input from the lambda probe, etc. If the scooter runs poorly, or sometimes not at all, and all the usual suspects have been checked, then a diagnotic inspection of the MIU can be performed. A special tool is needed and is probably best done at your friendly neighborhood Vespa dealer. Clear as mud, right? ⚠️ Last edited by J. D. Hart on UTC; edited 1 time

You can buy an oxygen sensor insert and have it welded on to any exhaust pipe. We do it all the time in the automtive field.
I would have it welded by some one that is good with TIG welding. Chris |

i was thinking of doing that exact same thing! but i was also thinking of just cutting the pipe because for the GT 200 the pipe bolts directly to the exhaust manifold. BUT on the GTS250 the factory exhaust is just clamped before the Lambda sensor. The leo vince exhaust mimics the factory.
SOOOOO my idea is to MAYBE simply cut the pipe, stretch the opening so it fits on the pipe where the Lambda sensor and clamp it ....just like the Leo Vince exhaust. I believe the only difference between the Leo Vince GT200 and GTS250 exhaust's are the pipe between the actual exhaust and the area to where it connects to the factory exhaust on the scooters.... never know i may just get something custom bent. Hmmmmmmmm I smeelll a project in the works..... I think ill be taking pictures and posting them to let ever one see how it works out! |
