HI All

My partner and I are new 150S owners.. and I have been lurking around this forum for sometime.. and have learned alot!

I did search for this but didn't see it.. one of the bike's brake light does not turn off.. it is always on and when braking doesn't get lighter.

If it is an easy fix I can do it.. otherwise we can bring it back to the dealer.

thanks for your input!

Hello Teresa
Welcome to MV... The 1st question that sprang to mind was.. What changed since the light started staying on?? Did you change something with the brake levers?? If not then something went faulty. The brake light comes on when a silinoid in the brake handle housing gets pushed when you pull on the handle. If something is keeping the handle pulled back just a little, then you brake light will stay on. If one of those silinoids has gone faulty that could be it too. Either way, they are new scoots, so sometimes things like this crop up. Take it to the dealer have them check it out and replace the faulty part... So you can be safe with a properly operating scoot. This kind of thing should be covered under warrenty.. so no money out of your pocket.

Post a picture of the two scoots... feel free to be in the picture as well. We all like to see who we are helping, and it is a nice way to put a scoot to a name.

The switches in the brake levers are push to break - and the brake lever normally pushes against them, so holding the brake light off until the lever is moved away from the end of the switch. The switches are screw-in - and if they unscrew even just one turn they can stay on permanently as the actuator is moved away from the end of the brake lever.

So if necessary take off any plastic in the way, and inspect the switches. Normally they are fully screwed in - I find that some switches need to be 'adjusted' though, so that the brakes light comes on just before or just as the brakes first start to bite.

I've heard of switches failing early in the life of the scoot - this is often because they were originally screwed in too hard and the threads have broken/stripped. New switches are cheap, and should be in stock somewhere accessible as they are a commonly required part.

Thanks for the tips.. we didn't make any changes.. so it must be just a glitch.. I tried looking for the switch but don't know what I am looking for.. so I will just let the dealer deal with it on Saturday. Already called them and they will fix it for me.

thanks again!
