Hi folks,

Thinking of adding adding a few upgrades to increase the performance of my LX125. Thing is, what parts would you recommend?
I know theres the Sito Plus exhaust, a polini or Malossi Variator, but what else?
How about the Cylinder kits (172cc etc) are they worth it?
Im mainly after acceleration with a little bit more top end speed.

I know I could always upgrade to a GT, GTS 250,300cc, but that would prob cost alot more.

Can any of you who have upgraded thier Vespa shed any light on this?

Thanks
R

Actually it would probably cost less. Every GBP100 you spend on upgrades takes GBP50 off the resale price - more if you try to get a part-exchange at a dealer. So every quid you spend will cost you GBP1.50 in the end at the very least - and then there's the possibility of the 'upgrades' leading some other bits having a shorter life.

Plus some dealers won't touch it with a barge-pole thereafter even for service.

If the bike is mint, you may get a good price from a dealer who wants to make a deal come the end of November, as their 250 sales will be down, but the number of 125 buyers will remain fairly constant.

If not so mint, ebay or gumtree is the way to go for sale, and then you can talk cash with the dealer if you save assiduously in the meantime!

Hmmm....never thought of it like that.
Good points made there.

May well do that.

Cheers

if you are not attached to the bike, i would say look at upgrading to a 250cc or something. or just love the bike for what it is, 125cc of slow hill climbing fun. personally i love my 150 and it goes plenty fast.
