Oh and for me 42 for the first ride. Didn't much care for the first mile either however things have certainly changed.

14. Delivered papers on a nearly new VNB and "motocrossed" on it with friends while they rode their Honda C-110s. Hard to remember that far back.

Got in to mopeds at about 13 years old because the police would not bother you on them. The first registered was a riva jog at 15 and 9 months which was the state minamun with driver training. I was legal and put on 3500 miles that one summer. I am now 36 and love it like I was a kid.

I was 14yrs it was my mates scooter. The back roads of London were so quiet back then. I'd to borrow it from time to time. Then not on a bike again until a motorbike at 29 for a year. Then the Vespa (mine,) at 37yrs.

That's a pretty awesome smile on your Dad's face: ear to ear.

I was 19 when I first rode a scoot. It was about 2 hours after my boyfriend and I bought it... a brand new '01 Yamaha Razz. I'm 27 now and still haven't kicked the habit (nor have I ever driven a car more than a total of 3 hours in my life). I did upgrade significantly.

I didn't discover the joy of riding a scooter until I was 35. I really don't know why I waited so long!

First time on a motorbike at 47. Never ridden one before then. When I went for my test it was only the third time I had ever been on a motorbike (the previous times were in training courses). I passed!
I'm now 48 and riding my wonderful GTV 250. My wife was initially against it. At one stage she asked if I was having a mid-life crisis. I was tempted to ask, "Do you mean 'again', or 'still'?" What I actually said was if I was having a mid-life crisis I would be wanting to get a Harley. Since what I was desperate to get was a Vespa it could only be described as a mid-life 'situation'. Now I'm encouraging her to get a scooter. She doesn't like mine-she feels it's too big for her. |

The oldest I've ever seen was at my local grocery store. A Guy who is about 80 (or a hard-ridden 70) rides an old MC with a handicapped parking sticker duct-taped to his gas tank! Ya gotta love it!

First Scooter Ride?
I was 51. It was the past May. I test rode a TNG Milano. It was a piece of *&^$. I bought a Genuine Buddy two weeks later. That wasn't it for me. I had to have Vespa. There is a certain "curb appeal". Not to mention that it drives like a dream.

Rode my first scooter when I was 20, a '67 Vespa Sprint, bought it from a local bicycle shop in 1982 for $90.00, back then no one in town knew what it was, rode it like this (except when it wouldn't start and I had to push it home) for 2 years before storing it away, I still have it, looks exactly the same now as when this photo taken was taken in 1983, still have the chick on the back as well, she is now my wife we don't look the same anymore!
