I had a original Vespa hot cover for the LX but sold it because it's to complicated to fit it every time is starts to rain and it makes the bike very sensitive to sidewinds.

Now i'm thinking about getting a Corazzo lap apron or the Tucano Urbano Takeaway.
Who has experience with those?
I don't want anything that's fixed to the scoot.

lap apron, etc.
I own a Scooter Skirt, which is very similar to the Corazzo Lap Apron. If you keep the speed down (ie., ride on city streets, not freeways), it works very well. It is quick and easy to put on, and it fits under the seat. On my Vespa 250, the leg shield is wide enough to keep it from flapping up at speeds below 60 mph. That is not the case with my other scooter, an Aprilia 500ie with a narrower leg shield. The Scooter Skirt flaps up on that bike. You can attach it to the cowls with velcro, though. And the owner of ScooterSkirt, Ruben, is a Modern Vespa member and really nice guy.

My favorite solution for both bikes is a pair of nylon overpants that have a waterproof liner for rain. I have a pair from First Gear that I like very much. They have a removable quilted liner. I can put them on or off in half a minute. I have the HT pants for winter and a mesh pair for summer.

+1 on the scooter skirt. Ruben is a good guy who is in busines to help his fellow scooterists on top of his regular day job.

Just a question that popped up in my mind...should you wear undies underneath?

Depends on how Scottish you are.

As an aside, Ruben is working on "chaps". Take that for what you will. I've tried the prototype. They're decent but it'll be tough to get a size that fits people well across the board. Big ranges in stomach and leg sizes out there.

i've got a corazzo lap apron and am very pleased with it - warm and cozy and folds up nice and small for storage. it doesn't cause any problems with handling in the wind either.

I have the Corazzo lap apron and cannot say enough good things about it. It is a little corny, but amazing if you ride in the cold or rain like I do.

I don't like rain or show suits b/c the nature of my work takes me out and about and I can show up somewhere that is not my home or office and drop pants. I would say my lower body is warm enough in 30's riding for shorter rides. I can endure lower, but everything else gets cold. It is actually toasty in 50's

I have the lap apron, and also can't say enough good about it! Very well-made, sturdy, good strong plastic clip. Very toasty - warm enough for Edmonton at the end of November (which is freeeezing), when there are no other motorcycles on the road! I love it.

The Corazzo Lap apron now comes with heating
Just looked and saw that you can now get it with a Gerbing heated version.

+1 on Ruben's Scooterskirt. Great product. The heated Corazzo is an intriguing invention. But for me, it would add a bit too much to the hassle factor. And if it's that cold, I'm probably not going out on the scoot anyway, at least not far or for long. But that's just me . . .

wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I didn't like the ScooterSkirt velcrow pieces taped to my scooter, so I
had my quilt lady next door sew in 3 inch flat magnets into
the seam where the velcro was ment to be. Works out great.

Good find on the Tucano Takeaway. I'm going to look for a pair, when I'm in Paris. Seems so much easier to put on and off than regular overpants.
