It's not like the cable snapped, the mofo won't even turn at all. I tried knocking a few times with a mallet to see if I could push it back, but to no avail. What could be the problem.

If it won't turn you most likely bent the throttle tube. You can buy a new one from scooterworks clicky linky

Hopefully you only bent the throttle tube and not something in the lower headset...

The bike is totalled.

You need to sell it to me for $25.

I will be down during Mardi Gras to pick it up.

How difficult is it to replace the throttle tube? Mine snapped at the grip area. It still works fine, but the grip is now about an inch or so away from the headset.

I would think if the tube broke you'd be able to push the grip at least into the headset...are you sure the grip is on the tube all the way?

Tube is easy to replace: open headset, take off spring clip holding the pulley on, take off pulley and spring washers, removed front brake cable from throttle tube (can just disengage at headset end if you have enough slack in the cable), disengage the tube spring, pull it out, reassemble in reverse order.
