Modern Vespa

I know this question gets asked a lot on this forum but I am looking for some advice about which aftermarket exhaust to fit to the 300 Super.

My main concern is noise level. I want to improve the sound of the scooter but would like it to be quite subtle if possible.

Does anyone out there have the Gianelli system fitted? What does it sound like?

I have a Prima exhaust I put on yesturday. If you go to Youtube and type in kb3gjp123 you can hear it. Prima exhaust is loud, but there are many more louder.

I have a Leo Vince on my 300 Super. Fruity but not loud.

I am one of the few running a Giannelli, and like it a lot. I had the Leo Vince previously, but broke two header pipes in 4K miles of use. The Giannelli comes with a complete one-piece header. It's about 1/3 smaller and lighter than the LV. It fits more easily, and looks better in scale with the bike to my eye. The heat shield is cool looking. Build quality and sound are the same between the LV and Giannelli, i.e. good quality, mellow tone. I highly recommend the Giannelli, and prefer it to the LV. I've heard bad things about Prima build quality and the PM is supposed to be LOUD.

There's been a few youtube videos of aftermarket pipes on the Vespa.
Take a look at those & you'll have a better idea of what they sound like.

I like aftermarket pipes - they can be very effective at deterring tailgaters or people waking up as they drive by because they hear you.

Had a PM which was super durable, looked great (no other aftermarket pipe looks as good) and mega loud (deterred cabbies, cyclists and other irritants from lurking in your blindspot). No problems and would recommend one to the deaf or someone who never rides with anyone else.

Stock exhaust is poor, Piaggio really need to wake up. I have had my Super for 9 months and that exhaust is already rusty.

having a hoot with the pm on mine, fabulous pipe but i'm afraid I'm a sucker for noisy pipes, backfires etc and this is my first scoot/pipe combo that's ever sounded anything like my motorbike. Which I absolutely love.

I think the final straw for me was riding up a steep hill on my gts (standard pipe) with a good handful of throttle and then hearing a dacka dacka dacka type noise which it doesn't normally make, causing me some considerable alarm. After peering about underneath while still on the move and generally having kittens I then noticed a helicopter about 5000 feet or so up in the air which explained everything.
Sorry, but I don't want to listen to other peoples aircraft while I'm riding a bike, and my lovely shiny noisy flame spitting pm ticks all the boxes.
Oh yes, love it.

dya change the airfilter as well? is it advisable?
