As an Mp3 rider, I am seen by friends as an 'expert'.

A friend has asked me whether she should buy a Zip or a Fly for a re-venturing onto the London Streets.

Shortish trips with some luggage. Lots of Traffic, leaving it out on parking bays.

What says the collected wisdom here?

Fondest

Unless your friend is tiny, i'd suggest the fly, it's got largish wheels and more storage/carry space.

7300+ miles on my FLY 150. Ride 24 7 365 temps low as 5F, also in rain handles great. Had to replace 1 brake switch. Still loving it!

Fay, I reckon a Zip is so small that it is more likely to get nicked. In fact, I know of two that were. Fly is maybe a little less likely to suffer the same fate, as they are a little less popular with chav joyriders.

Zip or Aprilia sportcity one... The fly50 is too heavy for its engine and has miserable weight distribution... ride one and youll see.

You probably tell jokes that are actually funny. And I probably shouldn't have taken your topic away from its original Q.

So: I'd definitely take the Fly. The Zip has very little road presence. It looks like you can pick it up with one hand and put it in your pocket. To my mind it's also the ugliest of all MVs.

Heh - I was thinking recently how amusing it was that Piaggio made both a Zip and a Fly, but you've beaten me to getting a joke out of it!
