This is so ridiculous, but I can't figure it out. I have a reissue 2005 PX150 and the plastic holder broke. So upon removing it, there was a metal plate and the 2 nuts on the inside. All of which fell down in the engine area. A-Will those cause problems? and B- How on earth do you hold the bolts through the small little hole under the seat so the screw can get to them. I don't have 9" thin fingers. Is there a tool or a method anyone knows about. And/or a tool to retrieve the metal plate. I can't even see it it fell so far down. I do have one of those flexible grabbers, but I have no idea where the plate is. It has 3 prongs, so it won't hold the nuts. This is so ridiculous I'm frustrated beyond belief!

The easiest way is to pull out the gas tank. All is easily accessed then. It's pain, I know. It's something that's helpful to know how to do anyway. Welcome to vintage scoots.

well, I don't know about getting the metal plate out, but to install the new hook, it wasn't too bad... a little shoo goo on the end of a long screwdriver holding the nut worked remarkably well. Now hopefully I can find a way to get the plate out before it blows the bike up or something...

Don't you fret about that stuff.

Nothing down there for any of it to hurt. Hell people pull apart really old ones and find entire collections of nuts, bolts, and other things (dead mice) etc.

Yup. And he's likely got the plastic drip tray insert in there as well, so it won't even likely make it down to the frame area ...

Just try a telescopic magnet-on-a-stick tool.

Maybe you'll get 'em, maybe you won't.

I hate rattles, so I go after things like that obsessively.
